Too late for me. I posted at the end of page one. lol
Science is not a religion. Faith is one of the most important aspects in religion, while science is is based on evidence. Religious faith lacks evidence.
I do believe you are mistaken my friend... Wikipedia agrees with me.
"A religion is any systematic approach to living that involves beliefs about one's origins, one's place in the world, or a responsibility to live and act in the world in particular ways. Religion is often equated with faith and belief in a higher power or truth, but it is more properly defined as the pattern of action that expresses that faith, and reinforces it in day-to-day living. Thus, one can share the philosophy of a religion, believing in its higher truth, without manifesting that faith religiously."
You believe science is real. You believe that science is the truth. You believe the facts that support it. You believe it explains your origins. You believe that it has a place in the world for you. It influences how you go about your day to day life. You take all of this on faith that everything you know now through science is true. Yet science, itself, has been proven incorrect as much as any religion has over the years. Science, as well as any religious faith has been corrected over the years to better incorporate into the world. You have faith and belief in Science, so therefore you observe and defend it as religiously as anyone who is a Christian.
As far as Religious faith not having credible evidence....We've cloned sheep. We've created a life purely out of science. We know how to manipulate the genome and DNA to make all new breeds of animals and plants (Glow in the dark tomatoes anyone?) These things didn't simply evolve. We created them out of nothing. Creationism is a very real thing and science is growing ever closer in proving this the more we understand about it. Science will eventually prove how anything in the Bible can and will be real.
Chris Angel can walk on water. So could Jesus. Coincidence? Are either of them a "son of God" to God, we are all his children, so yes.
I could go on further, but you'll most likely ignore any of this because heaven forbid someone disagree with you.
Oh, Merry Christmas by the way! :)
