Off Topic / Re: why the forget is psn not free anymore?
« on: October 01, 2017, 11:00:22 PM »
It makes them money and people willingly pay for it. If anything from a business perspective there's absolutely no reason for it to be free.
For how stuff nintendo's servers are it better be
Nintendo's servers are typically used for matchmaking only with the actual gameplay being P2P (Peer-to-peer). Anyway the bigger problem lies in with the lack of voice chat, text chat, invites, parties, etc. Embarrassingly basic stuff that even the original Xbox in 2002 had.

mayo and flight from before were the better options my dude

Games / Re: every nintendo switch has the nes golf game hidden in it
« on: September 20, 2017, 08:36:35 PM »
I don't see why they don't just include more stuff easter eggs like this, nes games don't take up any valuable space nowadays lol
The Golf game was put in specifically as a tribute to Iwata hence it only being playable on the day of his passing and having to strike his signature "direct" pose to activate it.

Nintendo wouldn't be going off putting in more of these since 1. This is only a special occasion in remembrance of his death (and Golf was picked since it was coded entirely by him) and 2. It'd make more sense in a business perspective to sell off any of the other NES games through the Virtual Console.

I'm enjoying my Switch very much so far. It's a system with a ton of potential that will be realized once it gets more games in the future. Right now its still good you'll just have to get past the sorta beta phase it's in (Lacking basic things at the moment like a web browser, streaming services, eShop pre-ordering/pre-loading, Virtual Console, etc.) and whether or not the available games are stuff that'll keep you interested.

yeah i'm seriously considering getting a switch now before it'll be sold out everywhere next month because of mario odyssey
The Switch is nromally out of stock so it's gonna be nonexistent in stores once Odyssey is out. I went to several stores with no luck and just ended up buying it secondhand. The stock situation varies by area so if you do end up getting one hopefully you luck out and find one instantly.

Games / Re: When did you have to pay to play mutliplayer on PS4?
« on: September 09, 2017, 09:40:23 PM »
PS4 had PS+ for online multiplayer since the beginning.
PS3 was 99% free with the exceptions being games like Battle Royale that required an online pass.

hey guys does the switch still have those hardware problems or was that just a meme
The hardware problems were just isolated issues that happened at launch. Only problem I can think of that effected everyone everyone was left joy-con deysnc which is already fixed now.

Obviously can't speak for everyone when I say this but my Switch is doing fine so far. Only bad thing I have to say about the hardware is that the matte finish is insanely sensitive and easy to wear off with little use.

no other consoles have the joycons and the non-motion controls are confusing IMO
it's almost entirely motion controls (only jump, dash, and rush are buttons) when you're using the motion controls and aside from the fact I grab when I just want to throw two punches sometimes, they're great.
The button controls are simple though. The triggers punch, shoulder buttons rush, X jumps, Y dashes, left stick button blocks, and moving the left stick after a punch curves it.

The motion controls by nature aren't reliable when it comes to trying to quickly do a large number of inputs in a short amount of time, that and it has the possibility of misreading it.
also why is jump/dash also charge and what is the benefit of charging anything but shock/ice? just more damage? I'd rather just spend the time it takes to charge hitting them an extra time. Is there a specific charge button I can hit that isn't jump/dash? It's very annoying to have to jump or dash every time I want to charge, I rarely do it
Charging your arms makes them do more damage and activates their elemental/status effect when it hits. Blocking is also another way of charging them but it also leaves you open for a grab.

Playing the test punch for a while it took a little bit for the game to click with me but its fun.

I'm not to keen on how you can't with split joy-con button controls easily (cause the game expects you to either use the grip or motion controls out of the grip and I don't like the grip tbh) it plays fine with the pro controller so its not that big of a deal. Fun game overall but I'm either gonna wait for price drop or more content to be added in later.

There's another Global Testpunch on the the way today in celebration of the new character being added to the game. It's a free weekend of sorts running from 11am ET today to 5pm ET on sunday.

Clouds literally popped up and covered the whole sky the moment the maximum eclipse was supposed to happen and by the time the clouds rolled out just now it was practically over

what website is that?
It's the eclipse section on the timeanddate website. Putting your city in the search bar will give you the page that shows you the info about the eclipse in your area.
