You can craft smooth stone into stone buttons and stone pressure plates, or you could patch up unsightly holes in your mine.

This is why you are supposed to only have a two block space between each tunnel, that way you can see every block in the mine.
For all you know, half of those Ns may have been diamonds or gold.

After the third time falling asleep, I will always find myself very conscious, but rapidly falling onto cement.  This was the very same scene where I skinned my knees for the first time when I was 4.  I will alway wake up and thud back onto my bed after hitting the cement.  I will feel a tingling sensation in my knees, and my arms will be braced for a fall.  I have no idea how I got in the air while laying down, but during my trip to Granada, Spain, I had to sleep in a room with my brother.  My brother confirmed that I actually fell about a foot, but couldn't tell me how I managed to jump that high whilst laying on my front.

I have had this dream every third or fourth time falling asleep since I was at least 8, and I can't figure out why this is...

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but only placed torches turn to lanterns.

The entire torch block (whether placed or not) of dec value 50 will become a lantern.  Notch is replacing torches with lanterns, and creating a whole new block for torches.  You do not need to place them.

I don't remember that.

Before water had the same physics it does now, if you placed sand over it, the water would appear in the place of the sand.  It worked with lava too.

I wont be using the gory texture after all. I want to keep minecraft blood free.

Zombie pigmen will not be gory anymore.  Not sure if happy or sad.

Okay here's the facts on ghasts:

So the wall thing must of been a rumor, But I guess them being able to break blocks counts as that pretty much.

In the same way a tank can go through walls, ghasts can too.

Notch replied that they will be peaceful.

@XaPhobia Putting your skin in the game now. It will be a mainly peaceful mob in hell.

Gah, I am too impatient to wait for the 31st.  I am looking more forward to the update than Halloween itself, even though Halloween is my favorite holiday.  Stupid Notch, making minecraft so awesome.
