Considering that they were willing to give you of all people a free tuition then definitely.

Why's that a surprise? I think colleges use a different metric than you, mainly one that's based on like test scores and accomplishments rather than 'supports a social program that beachbum resents'.

Nah you just gotta do well on the PSAT. ASU's scholarship comes from the government too, actually. Want to defund that as well? It keeps a lot of really good students in what's otherwise one of the worst states in the country.

If you really want I'll keep let you know when I get in, which will probably be in June.

I don't mean to be a richard here, but the school has like 30,000 students and doesn't even list their acceptance rate. I'm not even close to being a professional-level violinist, but I could totally get into ASU for violin performance. Doesn't mean that the NEA would shower me with grants either.

You know what I think? I think you want to kill the NEA because you're unskilled and you have no artistic ability. You resent the fact that other people are making a living doing something you can't by making art that you don't enjoy. So you want to destroy a program that costs a taxpayer $0.46 just because you think the art is 'pretentious' and don't want it to exist anymore. You're effectively destroying people's lives out of spite, not even for any sort of meaningful financial gain.

Politics and practicality aside, that just makes you a richard.
