"Of 78,022 primary offense cases in fiscal year 2013, 38.6 percent were illegal immigrant offenders. The majority of their cases (76 percent) were immigration related. Of total primary offenses, 17.6 percent of drug trafficking offenses and 3.8 percent of love abuse were illegal immigrants. Of 22,878 drug crime cases, 17.2 percent were illegal immigrants."
The sample here is from illegal immigrants who have been caught by the authorities and charged with crimes. If you look at illegal immigrants as a whole, they commit less crime per capita than the average citizen.
It's somewhat easier to catch a drug trafficker than a paperless dishwasher, so the figures get skewed.
israel's wall sure worked! (and it's not even a full fledged wall, like the one Annoying Orange wishes to build)

Israeli border fences cover a very small fraction of the distance needed to cover the US-Mexican border, and a higher percentage of the wall is bordering metropolitan areas with police forces where simply blowing a hole in the fence isn't a viable option. Perhaps if Mexico was a tiny strip of land almost completely surrounded by our territory, a wall would work wonders.

Again, only a small fraction of the total length of our border, and this fence was created to combat a different type of immigration threat. With the current migrant crCIA, potential illegal immigrants basically have their pick of any number of dozens of European countries, and if one of them puts up a barbed wire fence, it's more worth their time to just enter a neighboring country.
In our situation, Mexican drug traffickers and coyotes only want to come to the United States. They do not have a potential market for smuggling drugs and people into other neighboring countries.
