Yeah this isn't a mass-shooting. It was a bunch of individual shootings all across Chicago this weekend. Misleading title and thread.

I think it would be better said as "never been in a car but claims he knows exactly how to drive it."
Nah, that doesn't work either.

Here, I've got it.
"Has never been in a car, but promises to do suspicious things with the car involving walls and Mexicans."

A+ thread

you say that the majority of muslims don't want shariah law and then try to generalize all Christians as wanting gay marriage outlawed lmao
Fair enough. Unfair generalization. But the fact of the matter is that there are far more laws on the book created to be directly in-line with the Bible than anything in the Quran. The liberal mindset cares more about what laws people want to make, rather than what they believe internally.

for the life of me i cant understand why the left, the end of the political spectrum that is more pro-gay rights and pro-womens rights than the right, is also so supportive of an ideology that demands the woman be subservient and gays be killed
Probably because the majority of Muslims aren't calling for Shariah law in the US, while Christians are more than glad to try and codify their religious beliefs into our legal system.

Sure, a white cop shoots a black man. Statistically that's how it is due to the population. Only 14.3% of America is black. White cops shoot white guys all the time, but when it happens to black people, there is an uproar because of the media coverage only showing what they can deem "tribal."
Politics aside, this is the worst summary of the debate over police brutality that I have ever seen. You completely missed the point.

Oh cool, it's the alt-right version of this

Yeah this is the obvious choice. I'd probably even hire an professional investor to do it for me.
The way to 'win' the stock market is to invest in a wide variety of stable, appreciating stocks. If you actually invest in something risky enough to make you $2million in a year, then you're gonna lose your money pretty damn quick.

I don't actually understand the reluctance to use that term. You're specifying that it's terrorism based in part on a radicalized interpretation of Islam, which shouldn't serve to put the blame on all Muslims.

I guess it's probably because the focus here is all on gun control, but it's honestly more complicated than just one or two factors.

Everything you have posted here has been bait. It's pretty obvious that your trolling at this point.

"You see, it's been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn't we have the religion of the Japanese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion [islam] too would have been more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness? - Inside the Third Reich: Memoirs, pg. 115"

"Had Charles Martel not been victorious at Poitiers -already, you see, the world had already fallen into the hands of the Jews, so gutless a thing Christianity! -then we should in all probability have been converted to Mohammedanism [islam], that cult which glorifies the heroism and which opens up the seventh Heaven to the bold warrior alone. Then the Germanic races would have conquered the world. Christianity alone prevented them from doing so. - Führerhauptquartier"
What are you two actually arguing about here? If Islam has Riddler's stamp of approval, does that make Islam bad? As I recall, he was pretty fond of Germans too, but I don't see anyone pointing fingers at them.

burden of proof lies on you, dude
you cant just say "i am right im sure of it" and not provide anything to back up your claim
Most historical estimates place the total death-count of the Crusades at a couple of million people.

"Islamic Terrorism" is a poorly understood term, and how we choose to estimate deaths from terrorism depends on whether we factor in collateral damage from deaths in the wars against Islamic Terrorism. If we look purely at terrorist attacks, then it's somewhere in the tens or hundreds of thousands. There's not very much comprehensive research on modern terrorism because it's modern. People have researched the Crusades for centuries.

The numbers don't actually matter though because the world was a completely different place back then. Even if the Crusades killed less people, you're not accounting for what might have happened if the world was as interconnected and populated as it is now. The reason why people bring up the Crusades is because it goes to show that religiously-motivated conquests are more complicated than just scripture. Religion is an excellent vehicle for hatred, but so is nationalism. If you're going to blame the modern state of the Middle East on there being so many Muslims, then you'd have to blame the outcome of WWII on the number of Germans in Europe.

when I'm watching my usually bearing(pro anti-feminist) she loving hits me in the back of the head and then goes into arguments about how I'm "supporting the rape culture and the patriarchy in America"
It sounds like you're deliberately instigating her. Regardless of what she believes, it sounds like you're intentionally starting fights.

If someone wants to kill lots of people, said person will kill lots of people, regardless of the laws. Making guns harder to legally be obtained is not the proper way to go about it, because there are ways of illegally obtaining guns.
This is a slightly fallacious argument. The same could be said about laws against murder, but nobody wants to get rid of murder laws.

Every time you ban something, you're going to decrease the amount of people doing that thing by some appreciable amount. You're adding a negative incentive to that activity, and people will respond by doing it less. This is true for almost everything.

You have to balance whether the regulation is worth that decrease though. For instance, the war on drugs is an example of terrible regulation because it costs us tons of money to incarcerate otherwise non-violent criminals. The decrease in drug use as a result isn't that significant either.

My view on weaponry is that we should add harsher regulations for weapons that have a higher propensity for murder and a lower propensity for recreation/self-defense. For instance, hunting rifles would be less regulated, while hand grenades would be pretty much banned.
