Help / Re: Unable to host.
« on: April 23, 2010, 05:37:05 PM »
Odd, you shouldn't NEED 2 DNS servers... However your primary one may not like something from blockland.

DNS basically resolves www.google.com into a readable IP address, so I don't know why it has trouble with Blockland; unless the master server is given as the url (master.blockland.us?)... What you could do is try some different DNS servers.... I know google do a public one (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). If you want a more detailed guide on how to do this post your OS.

Edit: Kalph beat me to nslookup :c

Help / Re: Lagging Problems
« on: April 23, 2010, 05:27:17 PM »
I would suggest deleting completely the following:
Code: [Select]
Checking Add-On Weapon_Slingshot
Checking Add-On Weapon_SAR
Checking Add-On weapon_rpg7
Checking Add-On Weapon_Penetrator
Checking Add-On Weapon_NerfMaverick
Checking Add-On Weapon_FireworkLauncher
Checking Add-On Weapon_BouncyBall
Checking Add-On Vehicle_U1
Checking Add-On Vehicle_Missle
Checking Add-On Vehicle_GSF_FishBoat
Checking Add-On Vehicle_f18
Checking Add-On Vehicle_Arwing
Checking Add-On Vehicle_Airliner
Checking Add-On Vehicle_Abrams
Checking Add-On Vehicle_A48
Checking Add-On Script_NewDeath
Checking Add-On script_GreekBots
Checking Add-On Script_Emotes
Checking Add-On Script_AllowedBuilders
Checking Add-On GameMode_TDM
All of those are failed (either remotely or by a config file).

These you should either re-package or delete
Code: [Select]
Checking Add-On Player_Halo/Player_Halo
Checking Add-On Weapon_ArcticDragunov/Weapon_ArcticDragunov

Also;
You may have too many add-ons running; try running with only default add-ons.

And
Code: [Select]
Disabling Physics!
Were you fake killing a lot of bricks? This can cause lag.

Run dedicated.bat (windows only) in the folder where you installed Blockland (commonly C:/Blockland/ or C:/Program Files/Blockland).

V14 bug, reported many times. Will be fixed for v15.

Only happens to the host in non-dedicateds.

Don't have UPnP and port forwarding enabled at the same time; has been reported to cause trouble. I would suggest just UPnP

Is your server up now, with ports forwarded? If so I'll try to join.

I'm assuming you are attempting to use port forwarding? If so, the ping will display as --- but people can still usually join. If you are trying to use UPnP, disable the original port forwards; they seem to conflict or something. I would suggest updating to UPnP anyway if your router supports it.

What happens? Does it crash? Can clients not connect?

Suggestions & Requests / Re: RGB Animator
« on: April 21, 2010, 12:20:40 PM »
1. Dark map
2. Use red, green and blue bricks
3. Make an RGB Light in front of the wall of said bricks
Or combinations of the colours if you want them in more than 1 frame.

Help / Re: Hyperlinks
« on: April 21, 2010, 11:36:45 AM »
<font:fontName:fontSize> - sets the font and fontsize as indicated. Example: <font:Arial Bold:20>
<tag:???> - not sure what this does
<color:rrggbb> - sets text color in hex format. Example: <color:ff0000> will display red text
<bitmap:filePath> - displays a bitmap image indicated by the file path. Example: <bitmap:demo/client/ui/seperator>
<spush> - saves the current text formatting so that temporary changes to formatting can be made. Used with spop.
<spop> - restores the previously saved text formatting. Used with spush. See the file "3. Gui Editor.hlf" included with the TGE demo for an example of usage.
<sbreak> - not sure what this does
<just:left> - left justify
<just:right> - right justify
<just:center> - center justify
<a:ExternalURL>LinkTitle</a> - inserts a hyperlink into the text which will open the user's browser.
The external URL does not need the "http://" format. Example: <a:www.garagegames.com>Garage Games Website</a>
<lmargin: ##> - sets the left margin
<lmargin%: ##> - sets the left margin (not sure what the % does)
<rmargin: ##> - sets the right margin
<rmargin%: ##> - sets the right margin (not sure what the % does)
<clip:> - not sure what this does
<div:> - not sure what this does
<tab:##(,##,etc)> - sets the tab stops (multiple tabs are separated by commas)

What I generally use as a reference.... I know that some of these don't work in certain Blockland bits... I believe somewhere it was stated that <just> doesn't work in some of the client text things.

As far as I was aware, Narco didn't release these publicly... Did he allow you to post these?

-snip-

Really you just need the AND, OR, NOT (which can make NAND and NOR), possibly XOR (and XNOR). You could also do the 2 conditionals(if-then and then-if) and the biconditional... Meh. Just read you mentioned you didn't want the other "more complex" ones... even though they all only have 4 possible inputs(TT TF FT FF) and thus 4 outputs....

However I don't really see any useful applications for this; yeah it's pretty nifty, but to be honest most people may use things like this without even thinking "oh thats an AND gate".

It's kinda like we are downgrading the technology...
