Quote from: Space Guy in some thread a while back
There is a limit of 2048 datablocks to prevent too much loading on joining a server.

Help / Re: Port forwarding for mac
« on: September 28, 2009, 11:26:56 AM »
I did not know that it would get sticky'd when I made it, I wish I could edit it to make it for both types of connections. But most people do use a Mac Airport when they have a Mac computer.
Yeah its fine, sadly there is no edit button so you cant put a note saying. I do understand that the large majority do use airports.

Help / Re: do i need to port forward when i have...

ADSL is a type of DSL.
i think you do for any DSL. because dsl modems are usually all routers.

If you have a router, you will have to port forward. I am using ADSL and I had to port forward.

I mean second*
/facepalm That will only work for airport routers. Find the guide on www.portforward.com

Linksys WRT150N tutoril http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT150N/Blockland.htm  I even found it for you. I believe the only thing which will be even slightly different is how to set up a static IP. (And the fact you use your internet browser not internet explorer.)

Enter your router IP into your favourite web browser then follow the steps for your router at www.portforward.com

Help / Re: Can not connect....

The odd thing about your console log is that the master server authentificates, meaning that he can actually contact the master server. Try deleting City RP and Greekbots then retry (if you do not want to delete just take them out temporarily). Also try re-entering key.

V4. V6 is the new protocol which very few things currently use.
V4 = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
V6 = Much longer basically because they were running out of spaces.

So use v4

Could you post your console.log please, this can help people narrow down the source of your problem.
To post console log -
Click additional options down below where you post (on a new post)
Click Choose (attatching a new file)
Find console.log in the location you installed blockland. (c:/Blockland/ or c:/program files/blockland etc.)
Click attatch and then post.

Also have you tried re-entering your blockland key?

Check that your router firewall and/or computer firewall is not blocking blockland from uploading and stuffz. Create an exception if you can.

Help / Re: (Tutorial) How To Port Forward On a Mac
« on: September 22, 2009, 04:02:51 PM »
I tried portforward.com, but I got stuck at the IP Address part. Are you sure this site is for Mac? It looks like it only will work for PC...

And sorry, but what is the VPN settings? (Sorry for my lack of mac knowledge. Again, I'm new to mac.)

Go and find your physical router... In your house... Find out what make and model number it is... If it is an Airport router, you can follow this guide, if it is other (and airport) you can use www.portforward.com    Although done on a Windows computer (not a fecking PC - PC = Personal Computer not Windows computer), the process is almost identical on a mac... You chose your favourite web browser and type in the IP of your router.

Tell me what model and make your router is.

VPN - Generally is a Virtual Private Network. Programmes like hamachi are these, they pretend a cpnnection over WAN is a LAN connection(very roughly explained), I dont see why you would need to use this in this instance.

Quick question, how many of you guys actually used the download feature in the server information browser? I'm just doing it now and I've added the player list, and the list of add-ons the server has (along with whether you have that add-on installed, and whether it contains content like sounds/shapes etc.) but I have no idea if people actually downloaded from there.
I use it most of the time, it is so much faster than waiting for the downloads from the server and they are most likely good not going to break my computer :3

Help / Re: Hosting LAN not Internet?
« on: September 21, 2009, 06:05:40 PM »
It will appear to be a LAN game from any computer in your LAN (Local Area Network), or so I believe. The best way to check is just to call it something stupid like free admin and see if anyone joins  :cookieMonster:   Or you could just ask a friend to check it.... But that would be stupid :3
