General Discussion / Re: v21, you're either with or against it.
« on: February 07, 2012, 09:08:38 AM »
I have to say, I've never been much of a fan of most terrain/interior maps. I spend most of my time on slate/construct/plate edits; I like to actually build. I really enjoy terrain build servers and collaborative builds and I think that this update will encourage people to start getting involved in community projects and making impressive terrains and builds.

"Blockland - The game where you build stuff", not the game where you load a map and run around shooting everything which I have seen countless times.

Although I do admit that some maps have been done well and can add a certain amount to gameplay, the glitchyness of vehicles and the not great lighting involved, especially with terrain and interior maps, just make me think this update is good.

This game is a building game, so surely anything that enhances the building experience is good?

Does your router page have the "services" and "firewall" pages?

Sometimes routers won't have a port forward option and instead have a "services" and "firewall" pairing.

You have to set up the "Blockland" service which lists ports and whether tcp/udp. Then you put the service into the firewall, listing the hosting internal IP on incoming connections.

If you are not on a static IP you may either have to change your internal IP or re-port forward.

If you are certain you have port forwarded correctly to your internal IP, set up an "exception" in avast for blockland; if you don't know how to do this, I'm sure google will return some nice results. If you want to test before you do this, you could just disable temporarily before you host and see if that works.

Another issue may be, if you have port forwarded, make sure in Blockland>Options>Network    you have the box "Disable UPnP" ticked.

As the above poster linked you to, you will need to either port forward or enable UPnP.

There are many guides around on both and a website dedicated to port forwarding tutorials.

If you cannot do one of these things, the chances are you will be unable to host.

Help / Re: DRPG Installation
« on: January 24, 2012, 09:15:01 AM »
It tells you the message whether you have it or not. It's the server's welcome message.
Not with DRPG, DRPG will kick you if you have the incorrect version of the client.

The chances are you are putting it in the wrong place, make sure you are not putting it in program files/blockland/addons.      The instructions chrono have given are perfect.

Also make sure you are downloading from the link provided so you have the correct version.

I think DGlider had something that allowed anyone to build on top of everyone else's bricks. Although, you can obviously see how this could prove to be an issue.

Help / Re: Hosting is complete garbage for me - Attempt 3
« on: December 25, 2011, 03:26:13 PM »
You need to port forward or enable UPnP to host.

Post a printscreen of your attempt to port forward.
and a printscreen of "ipconfig" in the command prompt.
Hold down windows key + r (this will bring up the run menu) and put in "cmd", then after that this black window should come up, type in ipconfig and take a picture of that.

You could also try it yourself using the guides on www.portforward.com

i have a HUGE Brick
I'd assume this is the reason he'd want high quality prints; and as has been said before any power of 2 will work.

Question has been answered, unless any follow-ups, please lock.

Help / Re: Microsoft eHome Infared Transceiver won't stay dead
« on: December 14, 2011, 06:37:19 AM »
My eHome infrared transceiver was actually a physical usb device; If you have something such as a media remote control which has a usb receiver, just try unplugging it if it's not necessary.

After a quick google, if it's greyed out, it seems to be deemed necessary by the computer; what happens if you try to disable it in safe mode?
There seems to be various work arounds in terms of regedit and pissing about with the registry, but unless you are confident in what you are doing, I wouldn't suggest that.
