*sigh*
I meant Javascript and you know it.

No. Java and JavaScript are completely different languages and Java never refers to JavaScript.

This was even explained in the OP though. JavaScript is an implementation of EMCA. EMCA is the option for you to click.

You're literally just being difficult. The Blockland Forums isn't the same thing as Youtube. It's a bulletin board style forum used by <1,000 people per day. Youtube is a social media platform, a video broadcasting platform, a video sharing platform, a discussion thread platform, a private messaging platform, an update feed platform, a marketing platform, and so much more and is used by MILLIONS of people per day. Comparing the two is like saying that construction machinery is stupid because you can do small home fixes with your bare hands.

I never claimed the old youtube was unusable or even less featured. I said that it would look like that. Human beings are extremely visual creatures that have a huge focus on aesthetics -- that website just won't cut it in this day and age. People would literally be driven away by the archaic styling. It's the same reason that cars look different every generation -- there's nothing wrong with how a '67 mustang looks and some people even like that better, but it looks a lot different than a 2015 mustang. Things update. Things evolve. If you can't adapt, you'll get left behind and that's your fault, not the fault of the technology that's surpassing you.

I don't ever turn my computer off. The only time I restart it is when I install software that requires me to restart it.

Man, in a couple of weeks I'm moving out of my home into an entirely unfamiliar situation with 5 other people I've never met before in my life. Once that day passes, my life will literally never be the same ever again.

And you're scared of showing up and burning time at school.

I don't really care about the updates for better or worse, but do wonder why they keep making them?
Why do anything if no one asks you to?

why do they keep changing how it looks instead of adding something useful

Because things need to have a fresh look to avoid going out of date? If they didn't constantly update how it looked, it'd look like this still:

Also, DrenDran, the internet is a fast-paced organism that's changing by the day. It requires a lot of work to keep at the edge of that and not fall behind. Sites that fail to adapt end up like MySpace.

I hate the stuff out of the HTML5 player in general thanks to the fact there's no way to opt out of using it dammit.

Why would you want to opt out? The HTML5 player is faster, integrates better with your browser, and has more features. Flash technology is old and most sites only support it as legacy nowadays.

why don't they make it so that the theater mode player actually makes the loving video bigger instead of just centering it and putting a black box around it
It depends on the maximum resolution of the video. It does actually make it bigger, as long as there's a resolution to match.

Ravencroft, you might wanna dedicate an account specifically to being that thread's OP.

Y'know, you don't have the best track record with getting banned and after a ban we'd be in the same situation that we're in with Yuki.

Man I'd totally play this game but actually drink, but I'd feel like an alcoholic really fast because the operative term of a drinking game is that you have to keep drinking even when you don't want to, where as I can just bitch out of the forum thread.

Modification Help / Re: Syntax error

I thought torque didnt register spaces?

Torque ignores spacing. It does not ignore spaces. There's places in code where the interpreter has finished its current step and is yet to begin its next step, here you can place as many spaces as you like. For example:

Code: [Select]
 %string=   "spacing works"     ;
      echo   (        %string) ;

That would work just fine. However, this wouldn't:

Code: [Select]
%string = "this doesn't";
ech o(%string) ;

Neither would this:
Code: [Select]
%string = "this doesn't";
echo(%st ring) ;

So basically, in the middle of what's called a token (this would be a word like "echo" or "%string") spaces will break everything. However, in between tokens (like right before the line-end token [a semicolon] or right after the name of something) spaces work just fine.

$Pref::Player:NetName is a single token because the whole thing refers to one variable. However, once that token is over (right after the last e) you can put as many spaces as you like.

I truthfully believe in making the tobacco age to 21, because it can prevent people in the future from trying tobacco at an early age. Honestly, things like cigars and hookah are not good for you but nowhere as bad for you as cigarettes. I think cigarettes are the real culprit here, they are disgusting chemically-made pieces of paper. The only natural tobacco product I can think of is pipe tobacco, not to mention, it has a very pleasant aroma too.

What difference does it make if people start doing it at 18 or 21? They're not less likely to try it or get addicted at 21. The reason alcohol is illegal for U21 is because of the negative health effects it has on an adolescent brain -- of which nicotine has none.

I understand what the point is, but that's still a legitimate reason not to change the age. Causing immense suffering for a minority at the benefit of a majority is commonly perceived as immoral -- see racism.

IMO if they were going to do this they should do it in steps. This year, 18 is the smoking age. Next year, 19. That way the people who are smoking legally this year will never have to stop smoking legally. The smoking age would raise by 1 the two consecutive next years to rest at 21 forever.

Oh yeah, I wasn't like trying to shoot your idea down. I was just giving my opinion haha.
