Off Topic / Re: Should I keep Windows 8.1 Go to Windows 10?
« on: July 03, 2015, 06:25:17 PM »
Windows 8.1 is the ninth release of Windows, which is why this version is called Windows 10. It was not a service pack to 8.1, it was a complete upgrade to a new version. It's name was simply stylized to 8.1 to prevent people from thinking they had to buy a new version.

Regardless, my statement said that the previous 2 products released by Windows (with the context being Operating Systems), and 8 and 8.1 are two different products under two different names. My point stands.

I sure hope you're joking

I didn't say anything about Windows 7. I said something about Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

Once you upgrade to windows 10 its free, your existing key becomes a windows 10 key.

Microsoft: Sorry our last two products were so stuffty; take this one for free as compensation!

Off Topic / Re: Cool things you wish you could buy

I wish I could buy it so I don't have to build one myself.

Look out guys, we've got a regular Marvin Heemeyer over here.

Guys, guys. I don't know why you guys are arguing. You see, there's this cool thing called credibility. It's essentially a measure of a person's worthiness to discuss with.

Here's the issue: Taboo has none. There is literally no reason to argue with him, because his words carry no weight. He lost his credibility at the ripe age of sixteen (source, not 12 as previously claimed) and since has done absolutely nothing to get it back. Since he has no credibility, arguing with him is like arguing with a child.

I'm literally laughing so hard at this whole thing. Imagine you're just testing out this robot and it picks you up, and you're like oh forget. You know what it's gonna do next. You're just screaming "NO NO NO NO" as this horrific machine mashes you against a loving metal plate. It probably thought it did its job right too. I bet it even tried to continue building the car. Then people are like "oh stuff that's forgeted up, we should sue them." But wait, who the forget do you sue? That dude set up the machinery and forgeted up using it. Sue the company? What did they do?

There have to be some things that hold your attention. Learn more about them. And I don't mean do work, I mean just kind of casually learn more about them.

Drama / Re: What wrong with him?
« on: July 02, 2015, 04:29:32 AM »
Idk man. The host seems to be at fault here. It's always an offensive thing to say "nobody cares," which is why there's a rule here against saying that.

It discredits the person who said it, and obviously they care about it if they said it. "I loving do, [insult]" seems like a proper response to such.

This guy has to be the most egotistic person I've ever seen.

Real, unbridled egotism isn't displayed like this. This is fake, pretend egotism. Real egotism is much more subtle, like a genuine lack of understanding why people have doubts in him and his abilities. This is douchebaggery, not egotism.

Modification Help / Re: ScriptObject Confusion
« on: July 02, 2015, 02:40:45 AM »
Woah. Awesome job Elm. One question, what exactly is the tribeContainer? A SimGroup?

It's a ScriptGroup, which is a SimSet with ::onAdd and ::onRemove callbacks. They're unimportant to this implementation, so you could effectively switch out SimSet and ScriptGroup.

EDIT: I meant SimSet, not SimGroup.

Also I'm kinda confused about storing variables to SimSets. If I can do that, can I just completely remove the ScriptObject from my script? And store the stuff to the SimSet?

Yep.

Off Topic / Re: is it looked down on to change your icon too much?
« on: July 02, 2015, 01:43:52 AM »
A lot of people get used to peoples icons and start surfing based on peoples icons rather than their names to identify posters. It's quicker and doesn't require you to actually focus on the left part of the column, you can usually tell while reading.

So, it's nice to have an image associated with you for that. I don't have an avatar but that's only because I've been barred from changing my profile. Every once in a while I wish I could set one.
