Help / Where did the Bot Events go?
« on: October 27, 2009, 07:39:06 PM »
I thought I had already downloaded it but It didn't show in my add-ons.
Was it failed? I've heard of some interferences with the zombie and baby mods...

First of all. This:
http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=85555.0

Now that that is out of the way, here is another damn list of suggestions that you've seen a million times already.
I'm doing it anyways.

1. What: A burst fire rifle that does medium-low damage. Low spread with small delay between shots and a decent reload time after about 5 shots.
Why: There are 37 sniper rifles, but almost no regular rifles. This isn't really needed to balance maps with long corridors and open fields as we already have the gun, but it wouldn't hurt to have something a little different.

2. What: A Rocket launcher type weapon that fires slow moving projectiles at a decent rate. Small-Medium spread. Possibly a long reload delay after 6 shots. Small blast radius with little damage to players in the radius, but very large damage on direct contact.
Why: The player would have to think about using it against vehicles or infantry, as the projectiles are slow moving. He may have a hard time hitting players if he only has two shots left before the long reload, so tactical decisions are necessary for anyone weilding this support weapon.

3. What: A one-time use item that would fully recover the health of all players (+Vehicles?) inside a smallish radius.
Why: would be good for a support player in a class-tdm. obviously would save the asses of many teammates in an ambush if used properly, Idk.

4. What: Another one time use launcher who's projectile set's the health of all players in the radius to 15 (or another low number). Could be deployed a la HE-grenade / Spear throwing style. explodes on impact.
Why: I hate getting raped by an entire team. If you see them runnin' around or if you want to piss them off after they kill you, throw one of these so they can be quickly picked off by some cliche blockland machine gun.

5. What: Yet another one-time-use object. This thing would do no damage and possibly have no projectile, but it would have recoil. Lots of recoil.
Why: Could be used to double jump into an otherwise inaccessible window, or to launch yourself out of danger. Idk sounds fine to me.

What: a way to tell which way you are getting shot from
Why: It  would add a lot to DM's
What: Damage mod.
Why:
1x Hands and Feet
2x Arms and Legs
3x Torso
4x Head and Neck
Whenever you hit a player in the areas above, it hurts the player with the natural damage and multiplies it by where you hit the player. Every weapon would have to have its damage decreased. 2 would be normal. If you shot somebody 50 times in the foot, they would die, that is the only problem with it. It makes sense I guess.
I thought i had more ideas, but we do have a large variety of Add-Ons already available thanks to everybody who didn't crap up the forums with their Bad-Ons. I may think of some other things later, because I'm super creative and think about blockland in my spare time... and I'm tired :P

EDIT: Added prnceoprsia's declaration.
EDIT: Added Jasa 12265's suggestion.

Tell me what you think.

Suggestions & Requests / Anti-Personnel (A-P) Grenade
« on: October 04, 2009, 03:58:44 PM »
Don't get me wrong, I love the HE grenade in all it's 3 story enemy-filled building exploding gory glory. But I have always felt that indoor combat during TDMs was really missing something.

Most 1st person multiplayer games have some object that can enter rooms for you instead of you running in with your little shotgun, not knowing where the hell that one jerk is hiding. The problem should be apparent by now.
The answer? The A-P Grenade.

It would work much like it's highly explosive relative in that you could carry multiple grenades that were one time use for each. The difference would be that after the fuse runs out, it would release a shrapnel projectile in several directions instead of a kill radius.

I wouldn't care if it were a pink cube that exploded bouncing gun bullets. If you consider this as a project, be creative. Just remember:     Function < Balance < aesthetics.

"Sorry ROFLwaffle, but I find it hard to take you seriously on this one. If the HE Grenade does a fine job of clearing out a building on its own already, then why would you want a less powerful grenade?"

Look at it this way. Pretend your goal is to blow up every enemy's ass in the building. Why hesitate with that little green ball o' death? Because your ass and your team's ass is in the same building. Plus, Killing mass amounts people with the HE Grenade has always been a hollow victory for me (or at least a victory coupled with a "This is what you get for spawn killing red base" ban) and I think that the A-P Grenade would be pretty fun to use. Can you say "Stealthy Red base infiltration"? (instead of "Rambo Red base rape"?)

Please comment.

Suggestions & Requests / CQB Grenade
« on: February 24, 2009, 12:24:36 AM »
I love the HE-Grenade but i am working on CQB build and the explosion cuts around corners, through walls, and through ceilings.
I am requesting for somebody to make a grenade with a very small explosion radius (Radius size would be as tall as player and wider), or better yet: a grenade that fires several shrapnel projectiles upon exploding.
Would this be useful to anyone else?

Discuss.

Suggestions & Requests / On(ObjectiveItem)Hit
« on: December 24, 2008, 04:47:57 PM »
Remember the key add-on with the OnKeyHit events?
Would it be possible to use this style to make red and blue flags?
or at least different colored keys for challenges and dungeons?

I know we can use variable events already, but it would be cool to have to use an item slot to carry an objective item.

Thoughts?

General Discussion / (Actual) Floating Brick Tutorial.
« on: November 21, 2008, 10:53:19 PM »
There's no actual use for this trick other than saving a few bricks (maybe killing some lag) so i ask that you bear with me on this one.
I for one found it handy.
(here goes)

Make a brick that is not flat

[ ]
[ ]   < awesome brick
[ ]

put stuff on top of it then save

[_____]
[ ]
[ ]
[ ]

delete all bricks and place a shorter brick in the place of a tall brick

-

Load bricks and original will not appear

[_____]

-

hammer the little brick and save.
BAM
actual floating crap.
saves bricks.
your welcome.
(by all means use the wrench first, you cant delete stuff on floating platforms... save often)

I have finally cast it into the forums with it's own topic...
Misuse and ignore away!

Suggestions & Requests / Set Player Movement
« on: November 17, 2008, 11:17:54 PM »
I suppose "set player speed" would've worked too but that didn't sound very appropriate.

Basically an event that changes the player's top speed / acceleration.
This can be achieved using player datablocks, but the options would be limited.
I'm talking more of something with a specific scale, like the set player scale event.
Set player gravity would be a nice addition as well.
Has anybody else thought of this before?

EDIT: This could be used for something like spaceship builds, where your gravity and speed lower upon exiting the ship.

Suggestions & Requests / -Send Chat- event
« on: October 23, 2008, 11:00:26 PM »
An event that sends a chat or a message to all players in the server
I think this might have been made already but i didn't see it,
if it's not there then... i guess I'm requesting it.
