Server is going up early because happy Valentines day!  :)
(Actually it's pretty much up at the normal time because some minor delays :S)

-Added the Cicada!
-Nerfed the bug zapper
-Added more coloring to the Firefly
-Reduced the drag of the Scorpion (keeps him from going very slow in water)
-Fixed some flying bugs from getting stuck in water

I'm pretty sure the flag caps are tied to the team, not the player.

From what I've seen this is not so. I'll test it again to be sure though.

Q:Will the Cicada be a high flying bug(like the Dragonfly and the Firefly)or a low flying bug(like the Earwig)?

Currently it is a high flying bug. I might change this if balance requires it. I guess we will see tomorrow. :)

Well, I don't know if this can be considered a 'problem', but this has been annoying me for some time:

Currently, the gamemode seems to count the number of flags capped of each player for the win condition, but not the flags capped by the whole team.

So if Player A of Team 1 caps the required 10 flags, for example, Team 1 will win. But if Player A and Player B both cap 5 flags, Team 1 will not win.

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but I though I'd mention it just in case.

I was never good at Anti-flying bugs...
I surely need to get back at the guided rocket launcher sometime soon...

Also, i was thinking about the grab thingy.
Bugs will be able to grab friendlies as well right?
Because bombarding the enemy with worms or other strong buggers seems like a good way to support teamwork.

Yes, though the friendlies should always be able to 'jet key' off.
Also, playertypes with an 'unGrabable = 1;' line should not be grab-able.

The head shape has mainly been changed if i am correct.

Also, what part of the firefly (if any) is recolorable?
If i may make a suggestion, i would make these orange parts recolorable if you would be planning to add it.
The brown part would be a bit too much i think, though so far, a lot of bugs have like their whole body recolorable. :/

Anyway, looking good.
I think the firefly model is one of my favorite bug models so far.
Even though the FIREFLIES have been quite annoying in the servers due to their bright lights...
WHO INVENTED THESE LIGHTS, THEY SHOULD FIRE HIM!
Oh wait, i am kind of responsible for the blinding effect... Well never mind then.

None, sorry, i have been lazying around and doing either school stuff or random other stuff. :/
Don't tie me up in a chair and keep a firefly in front of my face, constantly blinding me with it's bright light.
Please. :X

Currently only the wings recolor, but I am planning to make the orange recolorable.

And what would you consider worse: a firefly constantly blinding you, or a noisy cicada sitting right next to you?
Speaking of the cicada...

True, but I'd still like to stick to real bug behaviors where possible.


If that did happen we would ether be fighting to stay alive or we would be dead by now. :/

The Cicada will be included on the server.

Also, I've been trying to make the Firefly look more like real fireflies:





If you looked at the reference image, real fireflies actually have red and black on their heads, along with the orange/yellow. I tried to replicate this, but it looked odd, so I went back to only the orange.

Seems like Greek forgot to disable flag pickups when you already carry one. :)

Pretty much. Though it only happens when picking up your team's flag WHILE holding an enemy flag.

The manual flag recovery option of the CtF mode currently is currently glitched in a certain case:

If a player picks up the enemy flag, and then picks up his own team's flag(from it being dropped), his team's flag will seem to disappear  (the enemy flag will remain mounted to the player). The chat message stating that the player picked up his team's flag will still display.

If the player then goes to his flag capture brick, his team's flag will be recovered. The enemy flag is not recovered however, instead it completely disappears, and it's spawn brick must be replanted to "respawn" the flag.



(I've been meaning to report this for months, but I haven't found the time/remembered till now.  :S)

I never have been much of a fan of private add-ons in general.
But indeed.
The firefly has these cool things which i am sure, many people would like to use as well.

As for BM5 becoming the betabugs, that would be okay i guess.
They are just boss-like bugs, not basic-like bugs. :)

Overall, i still dislike private add-ons, so by all means, i would be okay to not have any of them private, but i can live with BM5 becoming betabugs. :)

If I ever do release Mod 5, I will probably release it as a set of gamemodes, since most of the boss bugs need a specific build or setting to be workable. Most of them won't even do well in a 'boss battles' situation.

How about a escort the queen like gamemode for the bugs?

That would technically make (mostly) no sense at all, because queens don't usually relocate IRL.
But I really like the idea, so it will probably happen. :)

Well, I learned much about the balancing of things this weekend, like zappers being OP if spammed! :D

Things that will hopefully be ready by next week:

-Rebalanced Bug zapper
-Cicada
-TremorMite updates (maybe)
-Exo-Suit Updates (also maybe)



I've been thinking keeping Mod6 private might be a bad idea. The Firefly and SandParasite are both quite unique in terms of gameplay, and it seems odd to not release them at some point (especially the Firefly).
The TremorMites will probably become the same way once they are completed.
(If I do decide to release the Firefly, I'll move him to Mod 2)

With the way things are going, Mod 5 might replace Mod 6 as the "Beta bugs" mod.

I'm still undecided on this though, so I'd like to hear what you guys think.

Okay then.
When we are finalizing things, we can set it to a hardcoded value, but i did that global variable thing to modify it easily for you when hosting.
I only forgot to mention it. >_<
