Suggestions & Requests / Laser Pack seems to be gone, so...

A while ago there was a Laser Pack weapon set, which basically was a bunch of laser based weapons, each with different functions and all that nice stuff. Anyways, it was never ported from V8. Ladios (The creator of the pack.) said he would remake them for future versions, since he says the originals sucked, but unfortunately never finished. (And the four he DID remake and release, were on the old RTB system.) Judging by the fact that I haven't seen Ladios for a while around the forum, and that he hasn't updated us on this since June, I think he's given up on it.

So, onto the suggestion. Would someone please be willing to make something SIMILAR to the laser pack? Just a set of laser related weapons, with different bullet patterns and such. I doubt anyone would be able to get Ladios' permission to port the original, so I figured this would be the only course of action. I just feel like making a laser tag DM since that's what the original pack came in handy for so well, but I can only find three different laser based weapons. It's a decent amount, but still.. additions would be loved. Anyone?

General Discussion / Servers you want, but never see.

So recently I started making a server for fort building. But unlike most fort build servers, no DMing is involved. This is because I wanted to be able to build a fort without having people shoot me in the process.

Well, as I expected, some people immediately showed up and got all upset that no DMs were involved. (Despite that being in the title AND greeting.) But, then to my surprise, the next 4 people who showed up were all looking for a server like mine, and wanted to be able to build a fort without being killed. Just gave me a bit of a more optimistic look on the community of Blockland, because they weren't half bad at building either. (Meaning they knew how to build with the minimum amount of bricks, and come up with new and visually interesting designs for forts.)

Is there some kind of server you want to try, but have never seen a server dedicated for such a thing? Have you decided to not start a server because you thought no one would come to it?

Help / Well, we've finally gotten too many categories.

For a long time, I was wondering what would happen if too many brick categories were added to stay in the Brick Menu. Well, I just found out. It pushes one of them off entirely. I have JVS, Wedges, and Props, all of which add on a category. And well... now I can't use props, because it's been pushed off. The Brick Menu can't be lengthened for some reason, and I'd prefer to be able to use all mthe categories. Is there any way I can use all of them at once?

Needless to say, he's been banned for a day or so. But in other times, he's spammed my server and threatened to "give a bad review, so I would never be able to host again".

So, this being my first thread in the drama forum, has anyone else had some nice quality time with this wonderful piece of work?

General Discussion / New Bricks... *Gasp* THAT ARE USEFUL!?

Recently I've noticed the large influx of new bricks that are actually useful. By this, I mean interesting new bricks. Not just a brick pack with bricks that are new measurements, or larger baseplates and/or cubes, not things like that. Ones that a lot of people, including myself, have been asking for for a long time in the Suggestions and Requests forum. For examples....

-Spike Brick (Which now has a ceiling addition!)
-Round Corners (Which also allows you to build thicker columns, and tubes!)
-Extra Ramps (While the measurements are a bit odd, they have some interesting ideas, like rounded ramps and cones.)
-Multiple New Windows (Different sizes, different colors, and my personal favorite, ramped!)
-Pole Bricks (Skinny, and in 1x3, 1x1, and 1x1/3, makes fences much less tacky.)

It's allowed me and other people to build lots of exciting and new things, I think it's made builds a lot more visually interesting with all the options and ways to go. I say that I'm a better builder, but I think a lot of it has to do with how many more options have gradually been added in. Which brings the question and discussion of this thread... what was stopping us from making these earlier? Have people's desires and/or needs changed since the beginning of Blockland? And what do you think about all these new bricks?

So, I just found out that my favorite music group released a song on a video game, right? This isn't the newest game. It came out within the last year, to my knowledge. But all I can find are videos of people playing the GAME. Nothing with just the SONG. So as you may have guessed from the title, I can't find it ANYWHERE.

You have failed me Google. T_T

I've got to be able to find a soundtrack for this game somewhere. Have you ever not been able to find something through the Internet?

And it's not even the good "make-me-a-sandwich" kind either. It's the "OMG-COOTIES-RUN" kind.

A recent conversation I had with someone who joined my server...

It was really obvious that the kid was acting with that kindergarten kind of mentality, that everyone of the opposite love is gross and unlikable. But I've been seeing it a lot recently. Just a few minutes ago, someone joined and immediately said "Yeah, I'm a girl." And it wasn't that annoying "That's-right-I'm-a-girl-gamer" kind. It was that "OMG-DON'T-RAPE-ME" kind.

Have you noticed loveism on Blockland of THIS kind recently?

So today in my English lecture, we were talking about WW2. (Our teacher gets off topic.) We looked at some inspirational posters for it. And lo' and behold, I see the ever so popular face of the army soldier I see all throughout the Blockland forums. "Take less, so they can have enough!" the poster said. But I just couldn't get out of my head the familiar avatars I've seen around here.

I don't know anything about this meme, how it got started, or why it's so popular, but it's VERY hard to take a picture seriously after it's become a meme. Even if it's not that funny. (At least for me, since I don't get the possible joke.)

General Discussion / LOLWAT. Badspot got me again...

So a few years ago, my avatar was constantly wearing the :3 face, because I didn't realize what it was. All I knew was it looked cute, and that I HAAAAD TO WEAR IT BECUZ IZ OMG KAWAII DESU NEEEEE!!!111!11!1!!!!

Then I found out what it was.

And suddenly I wasn't wearing it anymore.

Recently, I started wearing the realistic face, the sort of creepy one, but not the smile. The staring one, that's just looking ahead with that B| face, with a bit of a smile.

And sunuvabitch, I found out what this one was too. Badspot got me again.

So, who else found out what these two faces are? Does anyone have any stories of similar nature? >w>; I feel like there's more to come. Like I have still yet to c wat Badspot did thar. I must search.

Help / Witch Sound FX?

So, on a server I found some sound effects that all seemed to be based around "Witches". There was a total of 7 effects. Witch_Attack.1+2, Witch_Cry.1-4, and Witch_Death. I only heard one of the crying sound effects, it sounded like a little girl crying. (I think it might be referring to the witches from L4D?) Anyways, I want these. But the server administrator was AFK, and I couldn't ask him where to get the sound effects. Does anyone know where I could get them? Search as I might, I can't find them, and they'd really be nice for a Haunted House build...

General Discussion / The "Clear Spam Script" seems to be losing its touch...

It just doesn't seem to be very useful anymore. I understand what it's supposed to do, but people just don't conform to what it considers spam anymore, in both ways. I see people who are definitely doing what people would consider "spam", but they just put it on a big 64x64 plate to avoid it being cleared by the script. And then visa versa, people like me, building gigantic intricate things floating in the sky on a couple of stacked 1x5s, and having it all deleted by an admin who doesn't realize this.

I know what's it's supposed to do, but not everyone is going to spam in that way anymore. The noobs do have some intelligence. Enough to figure out ways past the clear spam script. -_- What do you think? Do you think the clear spam script is still useful?

My poor space ship... it was almost done too... T_T

When I go to account settings, I can change my email, I can change other things, but the box for my username remains solid and unchangeable. Am I stuck with this cursed name that I no longer want, forever? D:

General Discussion / My. Don't you sound evil.

I see a lot of people on Blockland who attempt to come up with a really evil sounding name, most recently being "The Death Slayer". In addition to this, I see a lot of names that revolve around darkness, shadows, slaying, and other things like that. Like many others, I just don't understand this fad. -_-' Are they trying to come off as cool or intimidating or something? What are they trying to do?

But this isn't the only common username theme I've seen. I also see a lot of usernames relating to sonic. And of course, usernames that make the person sound like they have a huge ego and have ridiculous amounts of numbers on the end, like "coolawesomedude19881293179874", because they lack any sense of creativity relating to usernames.

Do you see any common username themes on Blockland?

Something tells me I should change my name before someone talks about mainstream anime character names being common usernames.

Help / My server randomly closes..

Rather, it doesn't close, it just freezes. It just happened for the second time.

I've checked my internet connection, and nothing changed. It just suddenly decides that there's no internet connection or something. No "lag" sign shows up. The cursor just stops moving.

Is there anything that might be causing this? Has anyone else had the same problem? It's amazing how errors seem to happen to Blockland more than any other game I play on my computer.
