General Discussion / Re: 2011 New Year Server Pictures (Kalphiter Server)
« on: January 01, 2011, 01:43:17 AM »
Well, I'm not a big fan of the build, but I like theme of a dark, black room full of bright, vivid colors. Gives me an idea or two...

I suppose you did have fun, though. Happy birthdayfail.New Year, I suppose. :<

Where did you come from, L?! :O
Never seen you before. :o

I came from a vagina, personally. How about you?

Let's try to stay on topic. You can PM me about that if you want.

Should perhaps rename title "Blockland and Portal 2" that way it looks related to blockland and you dont get people saying that it should belong in games.

Good idea.

Though, I'm not sure it'll really help in the long run.

General Discussion / Blockland and Portal 2.
« on: January 01, 2011, 01:29:24 AM »
So, for those of you that may not know, the game "Portal 2" will become out in about a month. And also, for those of you who may, for some reason, not know, Portal is one game that the Blockland community has adopted and fawned over so much so that there's practically an add on for every single feature the game has.

-Portal Gun/Gravity Gun
-Weighted Cubes
-Anti-Portal Bricks
-Prints
-Music (Both from the background, and GLaDOS quotes.)
-Turret Sounds
-Aperture Science 15000 Megawatt Super Colliding Super Button

And, of course, a helluva lot of Blockland remakes of Portal chambers and areas.

So while I don't mean to use the Blockland Forums to discuss Portal, I can't help but be curious as to how the release of Portal 2 will affect Blockland. When it's released, will Blockland users once again go through a frenzy of trying to make an add on for every new feature? Now, of course, some features are probably absolutely impossible to port to Blockland (Or are they?) but still, I don't see it as something that would just pass Blockland by without a certain amount of effort towards making some of the features available in Blockland.

So, what do you think will happen when Portal 2 is released? Any features you want to see in Blockland in particular? Are you a fan of Portal, or more specifically, Portal in Blockland?

EDIT : NVM, it's coming out later than a month. Sorry about that.

General Discussion / Re: Pic of some wings Im trying to make.
« on: December 28, 2010, 11:46:27 AM »
I agree with the Corporation. The shininess seems okay for now, but the shape looks really unnatural for wings. I don't know what kind of wings you're going for exactly, but if it's a Block Person's wings, they shouldn't be so curvy. Either way, I've wanted to see wings on Blockland for a while, that Mario Hat thing didn't really cut it. So please, release them when you're done.

Help / What are Datablocks?
« on: December 24, 2010, 11:07:52 AM »
I use add ons, but I really don't know anything about datablocks. What are they, and how do you see how many datablocks an add on uses? Do music files use datablocks? Do all add ons use a certain amount of datablocks?

General Discussion / Re: Music limit?
« on: December 24, 2010, 11:05:27 AM »
Once, for my own 1 Player server, I added in a song that was just short of being two minutes long. (I cut off the very end of it.) I don't know about if it's an online server, but if you DO make a song over 45 seconds long, you probably shouldn't make an online server with it so people can download it. The download time would be ridiculously long, and if they did download it, they might make someone else go through that hellish download time if they add it to their own server.

I don't really know how music works with Blockland, or if there really are limitations on how much you can have, but if I could manage get a song that long in there, I'd say you don't have to worry about a limitation for a while.

I was Luv4manga, then I was L, and now I'm O_o.

I feel kind of stupid for having an emote as a name, but showing my interests seemed to have much worse consequences for me in the past.

General Discussion / Re: Blockland Video: The Ring Cursed Tape
« on: December 23, 2010, 10:06:03 PM »
I don't like this video. We don't understand anything and if it was made to be scary, it failed, sorry.

If you don't understand it, then how do you know if it's supposed to be scary, or that it's failing to be scary?

For those that really might not get it, it's a parody of the tape featured in the movie The Ring. This is just a guess, but I don't think he's trying to be scary. He's making fun of the movie. It's a joke. Stop taking it so seriously. :|

I thought it was a funny idea, personally.

It looks like there's a shadow of something on the part at the front. Looks like a missile or a bomb. So I'm going to assume this has something to do with firing missiles from above?

General Discussion / Re: show off fourm pixs

What four letter word?

...I was using that as an example, not literally. Some people, when they get into arguments on the Internet (Or just arguments in general.) decide that their side is better held up by them using consistent profanity. As if, somehow, they're right because they just used a better insult. They win the argument because of something totally unrelated to the argument. In this case, replying to someone with "can you stop posting noob". Like you (sarcastically) said, oh jizz, now he's mad, everyone stop arguing against him because he's clearly right and will kick our asses.

A literal example is if little 6 year old Timmy heard the big kids on the playground say "forget". He knows it's a bad word, and thinks that he's a total bad ass rebel who can win all of his arguments by using profanity.

this is not spam people like it well evry one exsept you!

Now you have my interest. Please, quote to me a post in which it is stated that every single person in the Blockland Forums Community likes this topic except for MasterLemons.

My advice to you: Don't get into arguments that are based around insults on the Internet. Use a fact. Not a fancy four letter word you just picked up from the big kids on the playground.

Drama / Re: Sarcasm
« on: December 19, 2010, 07:18:19 PM »
Personally, I think I would have done what he did at the beginning. I like sarcasm, I use it, but when people use it as an insult to someone else and try to act like it was deadly obvious, I get PISSED. And on Blockland, I act like much more of an starfish than usual when I'm pissed at someone. In the meantime though, he really lost me when he started going totally off topic by saying "Clearly I'm winning." That was really just... a richard move. \B

At the same time, though, arguments like that are why I never try to be friendly towards someone on Blockland. I don't feel like trying to remember a person, or be expected to act a certain way towards them. So while I think your side of the argument was the correct one, and was perfectly understandable, you're just asking for it by expecting someone to remember you as a friend.

General Discussion / Re: Update site?
« on: December 19, 2010, 07:09:05 PM »
How do you mean "updated"? The change I noticed with the main site is just a bit of an appearance change. The forums seem like they're going for a simplistic 4chan feel (Particularly with the shade of blue.) and even the slightest change would probably start a horrible whirlwind of complaints and bitch fits from the users.

Though, I wouldn't mind a change, personally. Blockland has become newer, and shinier than it was when I joined 11 versions ago. Just look at the icon. The look of the forums are so plain at the moment...

General Discussion / Re: How Blockland has changed FOR you over time.
« on: December 19, 2010, 07:02:32 PM »
Titanium's Blockland experience seems to pretty much sum up mine. I bought the game at V8, and delved in with my simplistic builds and complete ignorance for how the game worked. (Really, I felt like I was back at square one when events came out. I was confused all over again. I still don't think I understand them completely.) However, I don't think the feel of Blockland has changed much. It's basically stayed the same for me this whole time. I came, I built, I concurred. (Though, that last part varies a bit.) I've always felt like building my own thing, and I've always been a bit put off from the rest of the community. Increasingly so, actually. Making a post just for the sake of insulting another user behind their back is something I've found unique to the Blockland forums. Unwritten Calender. >_>

Though, I don't think I'd mind another huge update like events that WOULD change the feel of Blockland. The thought of such an update is really what keeps me playing the game.
