Yea, pretty much all graphics cards these days have GDDR3, better for high-resolution textures :D

Also newegg ftw.

loving stuff, fine, I'll play.

1. I was not talking to you.
2. I have three computers I built myself and modified right beside me.
3. I get PAID to fix computers.

RAM has forgetloads to do with speed:
The amount of data it transfers per second. If ram processed at a forgetlow speed, you'd have fun sitting in front of your computer for 10 minutes until it starts up. Your computer can dump more objects into larger amounts of RAM for faster fetching, thus speeding up program load times, and reducing the amount of pagefile used. I'm not going to exhaust the rest of my knowledge until more dumbass comments are made.

Oh, ok, so DDR3 (faster ram) and faster ram clock speeds are pointless. Thanks for the tip.

Nah, you got it all wrong. According to them, RAM has nothing to do with speed. You just hacked the universe :0

That is exactly why what Altiarch  is saying is bullstuff. Computers have backups and defaults they use to save them selves.
HOLY forget its hilarious that people think I'm the stupid one.
Oh hell yea. RAM has nothing to do with loving speed ftw
LOVE your logic. Now to real life:
I'm talking about running the same amount of loving programs on both computers, one that has 2gb RAM and one that has 512mb RAM. A game... lets say... Battlefield 2. Have fun!
I'm not saying RAM is the only thing that contributes to speed, but you'd have to be one dumb forget to think it has nothing to do with speed.

On second thought, lets just leave it at "I don't know stuff about computers". If I don't know stuff, you must know less than stuff, therefore you're insulting yourself. I'm fine with that.

Sorry for the off topic, but:

I laughed my ass off at this. This is so wrong I could take three hours of typing it, but I will put it into the simplest term I can imagine. Belief, and going to get forgiveness, are not enough. You have to do the right thing, and truly want that forgiveness if you do the wrong. If you just believe in Jesus, that is not enough! You have to believe in him and do the right thing. Satan believes in God, but he is in hell.

Actually it is enough, and I said accept him as you messiah, and if I didn't then I'm correcting myself now. Its not wrong at all. I mean, unless you're one of those literalists, then I feel sorry for you for listening to everything your parents tell you. Really, just read John 3:16, which I'm sure you know. Then there are various other verses about forgiveness. In short: Sincerely accept Jesus as the messiah, don't commit the unpardonable sin, and you're all set. You don't get to heaven or get kept out of heaven by doing or not doing "the right thing". You're probably a baptist :(

I use Vista. Its fine. I use it for compatibility purposes (wat) and the media center. The browsing and file manipulation is a little sluggish, but I get higher FPS in games and can do more stuff. I like XP more, but I've grown to like Vista (post-SP1).

within a year it will be a standard average to have 8gigs of ram, and not long, much more.

The average is 1gb right now, 4gb is nearly unheard of, and 8gb is like 0.1% of the population. Were you joking? Not sarcasm, I seriously can't tell.

Games / Re: Question about Gmod and Counter Strike
« on: August 25, 2008, 02:52:24 PM »
If I get a game then gift it away, can I still use the props for Gmod? I Want gmod, and it seems tons of servers use CS:S stuff, but I don't really want Counter Strike at all.

Didn't read the rest of the topic, but Gmod now runs on it own, the engine is built in.

Spore, the game where you can make snake monsters. AH NOES MY PLANET IS BEING INVADED BY snakeES D:

This game will help past time but I don't see it as a "Lets waste my life" type of game.

I like the gesture it is making; it covers like 7 genres, and that is something I want to see in more games. And yea, I'm going to waste at least the rest of the year playing it. :cookieMonster:

Why don't you shutup and stop trolling.

Why don't you loving read the topic? I made a comment, then megascience decided he'd try to jump in and tell me how leet 512mb is.

Alti, are you sure you don't have anything that slows your computer down on?

Yes, I'm sure. I'm running 2 instances of firefox with many tabs open, xfire, trillian, steam, all on the 600mb RAM eating OS of Vista.

No. I now have a computer that has 2 GB of built in RAM, but it's still as slow as my last one that had 512. It depends on the computer, graphics card, space used, etc.

Though it is painfully obvious what I meant, I'll reply to you. 512mb means you can't run as much. If you're only running the OS and Firefox, no stuff, it will be faster. I'm talking about non-bullstuff here, such as running a few modern-day programs that take up RAM, games (HL2 alone takes up 600mb on mine, and it is a few years old.), and memory-intensive tasks. I'm not even going to ask why you have 512mb RAM in your faster machine.
