The Watergate Story (that the government doesn’t want you to know) It was 1:30 in the morning on June 17, 1972 (EBSCO 2). Just another morning shift for Frank Willis, a security guard at the WATERGATE (Washington Advanced Tactical Espionage and Reconnaissance Guarding Against Terrorist Extremists) facility, a top secret organization in charge of gathering intelligence on terrorist organizations around the globe. Nothing extraordinary had happened in the last week. No aliens, no space marines, and no nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Willis had been working at the facility for several years, but never saw any action. That was all going to change today. A few miles away, a metallic red Ford XA Falcon station wagon was heading down the highway towards the WATERGATE building. Its occupants were Virgilio Gonzalez, Bernard Barker, James McCord, Eugenio Martinez, and Frank Sturgis; all of whom were Soviet ninjas. On May 28, several weeks earlier, they had infiltrated and placed various listening devices around the facility (EBSCO 2). Now they were going to pick them up. This was all part of a plan by the USSR to plant the seeds of malcontent in the US, and have the counterintelligence to be able to protect and nurture them into full-grown trees of terrorism. Back at the facility, Willis was on break getting himself a cup of coffee and talking with his fellow guards. All of a sudden, an alert came over their radios that an unauthorized vehicle had entered the parking lot. The guards went back to their posts. On the way back, Willis noticed that a door leading to a high-security area was left open and the lock taped over. He attempted to radio one of the guards down there, but he received no response. Willis figured he should go down and check on the guard, but remembered he didn’t have high enough security clearance. Besides, he was supposed to be patrolling his sector anyway, so he simply removed the tape from the lock and closed it. About a half an hour later, Willis passed the same door again and found it reopened and the lock re-taped. He attempted to radio the guard again, and received no response, so he went down into the high-security area. Turning a corner, he saw the guard he had been trying to radio, the victim of multiple stab wounds. Willis felt for a pulse, but felt none. Getting up, he felt something shoot past his ear, and saw a shuriken hit the wall a few feet in front of him. Startled, Willis quickly drew his small machine pistol and turned around to see where the shuriken came from and saw the black and red body armor of a Russian ninja. Caught in the open, the ninja turned and ran. Willis yelled at it to stop, but it kept running, so he opened fire. The ninja’s body armor took most of the force, but one bullet hit him in the shoulder. The ninja turned around and threw a handful of something, but Willis didn’t get to see what they were before they exploded in a deafening bang, blinding flash, and cloud of smoke. Coughing and disoriented, Willis made his way out of the smoke screen. The ninja was gone.Willis picked up the dead guard’s gun and ammunition and radioed a general warning to be on the lookout for an armed hostile. He then ran down the hallway in the same direction the ninja was. Looking in through a personal office door, he saw two ninjas attempting to remove a wire tap from the telephone. Willis took a deep breath, smashed the window with his elbow and began firing through with both machine pistols. The ninjas’ ballistic vests were designed to withstand small-arms fire from a single weapon at medium range, not close range fire from two. Needless to say, they went down almost instantly. Willis went in the room and checked to see if they were still alive. They were alive, but badly wounded, so Willis used the phone and dialed an ambulance. Right as he hung up, he felt something slip around his neck, and immediately began choking. There was a third ninja, strangling Willis with fiber wire. Willis struggled, then suddenly kicked back and felt the whoosh of air being expelled from the body as he hit the ninja square in the groin. It released its’ hold on Willis, and fell to the ground. Turning around, Willis saw his would-be assassin on the ground unconscious, and two more ninjas showed up in the doorway.
