Author Topic: Zune HD problem recognizing :c  (Read 1275 times)

Finally I bought it an hour ago, but I've let it charge for 30 minutes and I've gotten the software. Everything is updated to the latest firmware. My USB port works fine but I cannot seem to get the Zune to recognize at all. I've tried re downloading the driver but still nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? because I cant do anything with the Zune itself. I keep getting the same "To continue, sync with the Zune Software on your PC." even though it's being charged by the usb and I have the software open. But nothing...

Help. :(
I'm not sure if this belongs in Off-Topic but oh well. :c

Perhaps because of your windows version. I had a similar problem with video software and Vista. It only ran on XP. Try running the program with XP or below compatibility. Or Googling the problem, it might list a solution such as Vista or above compatible software. If worse comes to worse, try contacting Microsoft about the issue.

I just checked in device manager and I got this:
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)". :\

I have XP, and I tried googling the problem but it didn't help.

Try checking the manual. Read over it carefully. Usually when plugged in, the actual device has to be in a certain mode. So it has to be manually put in that mode before plugged in. Blame Microsoft :/

Slightly off topic, but besides the fact that it's not working so far, is it good?

I'm thinking about getting one.

I'll tell you from experience, that the iPod is amazing. I've had a Nano for about three years now and it has yet to fail me. At this point I'd be afraid to purchase anything from Microsoft, besides the 360, although that has some problems as well.

I hate Apple and everything they make.

The iPhone was genius and launched a whole type of phone, but the way that Apple markets and operates their product and business is very convoluted and exploitive in my opinion.

But that's another talk entirely.

Re downloading the software right now. I'm extremely pissed because I'll have to add all the songs all over again.

I sort of agree. Although Microsoft is no better in my opinion.

Nah, Microsoft just sucks at advertising.

Nah, Microsoft just sucks at advertising.

That's what I mean. Especially those commercials where the people are on "hidden camera" and shopping for a laptop.

Well I fixed it. Turns out it's not Zune at all. It was a script used to help emulate a PS3 Controller to work on the PC it was called libusb which actually interferes with the Zune's drivers. Which I did download to try to get my ps3 controller to work on PC Gtaiv. All I did was go in add/remove programs and got rid of it; worked instantly after restarting computer. :)

I am now a proud owner of the Zune HD 16gig. :D
