so we know if were gonna fall down a huge shaft and die.

I think you would KNOW there's a huge shaft when you see one.

Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean you have to fall down it and die

I do believe Las Vegas has a massive network of washes, many of which run underground.  Because the few times it does rain there, it pours.  So I'm guessing he is going to explore these.  Don't worry, there shouldn't be any deep shafts; that wouldn't make any sense.  Just make sure there isn't any rain in the forecast if you don't wanna die.

Here is the type of storm drain were going to be going into.

That isn't a picture of the actual drain but it's built like that and you can't see the other end because it turns into darkness.  I am also pretty sure it continues on for a while because it goes under a housing community.

Oh well that's different, that's not a storm drain :D

If you follow it you should eventually get to either a pond or a creek or something. The one I followed when I was younger just went to an empty pond.

Get a flashlight obviously and bring a tuna jar just in case you see a homeless man.

We had one of these at a nearby beach. I was going to go down it a month ago but they have it blocked off now :(

Well, you can use the tuna jar for:

I was masterbating with a tuna jar and cut myself...
Heh.

Remember to bring your alligator repellent.

I do that all the time
Bring a flashlight
And a lighter
the flashlight to see the cliff you shall fall off.
The lighter to burn the spiders between each of the units of cylindrical cement.

You should make sure your weapons and armor are repaired and and at a good level. Also bring some potions and ethers.

My friend told me deep inside the tunnel there is a huge drop off with water flowing through it.  I hope I'm not leading the way. :(

Your friend is full of stuff. If you do find it push him down it for teh lulz and say he fell.
