My old computer did this a long while back. Cleaning the dust out of the case and resetting the RAM seemed to do the trick.

Epic BUMP. :cookieMonster: Sorry.
ANYWAYS:
Well, Crap.
I ogt a new harddrive after trying a VERY old one, (removed in 06) and It turned out that it was something on the drives.
I lost EVERYTING.
My games
My pics
My Harddrive
and all the other Crap that moves me.
I got my BL files form my bro's, and now I am living a happy life, or am I?

I feel your pain. Lucky for me, I had most of my important stuff backed up on a flash drive. I suggest hooking up the BSoD HDD to an old computer and trying to back up the info on a flash drive or portable HDD. If you formatted it or something, sorry for your losses and good luck.

I feel dumb for asking, btu what is BSoD'ing mean?

Blue screen of death.

I thought the BSoD wiped out your harddrive.  I have vista, would it still BSoD?

...

The Blue Screen of death isn't much Death when you think about it, just restart and if it still happens replace some hardware.

My PC gives me errors with data1.cab files in installers, it BSoD's me sometimes, it crashes randomly, games crash randomly and generally doesn't like me.
I'm fairly certain that it's my RAM though I'm not certain... I ran a diagnosis program on it a while back and there were around 11 errors per stick (I have four) and I've lurked many forums and seen the answer to similar topics being 'RAM problems'.
Can anyone verify this for me? If it helps I have four sticks and two are a different brand/model to the other two - can this effect anything?

Lol XP, so outdated.
Get windows 7, it is much better and NEVER BSoD's.

forget you. i love using XP. there isn't no stupid Log-out timer that automatically shuts off what your doing and doesn't let you go back in.

Wow
Bumps bring a topic to life :\
So far, so good

...what?
Plus, you're using an old operating system that's outdated. XP's at least...seven times worst than Windows 7.
Stop saying that XP is better, it's not.

I'm an XP
It's not like, well.......
I gotta make up a reply
