Author Topic: Texture maker?  (Read 2132 times)

Hey,

Does anyone know of a good texture maker for mac?(One that makes tile-able textures)

    Thanks,

Does photoshop have a "make tile-able texture" feature?

Gimp and Photoshop should both have an texture tiling filter.

Tiling textures made by a computer look like stuff and you should always tile textures by hand. It shouldn't take too much longer then 30 minutes to do it by hand. It's usually a lot faster if you use a good simple image as a base. Floor tiles, wood, metals and concrete aren't very hard. Bricks are a pain in the ass.

Thanks guys, I actually found a texture tiler, I tried a picture of water and it actually looked good for a computer. 30 min. for a simple texture? That's outrageous! Wow.

    Alright, bye,

Oh, and if you want that texture maker heres the link: http://texturemaker.thegamecreators.com/

Water and grass and stuff will probably tile fine, try tiling bricks with it though an be amazed when you get bricks fading into eachother and mortar joints that end abruptly in the center of another brick.

30 minutes isn't that bad, you can do most stuff a lot faster. If you do a good job you'll use them again and again, I have a steel plate and wood texture I use for everything now.

If you found an editor that works for you thats great, I'll check it out when I get home.
