Blender and Milkshape 3D.

Milkshape 3D is super easy, but it's not free, and my key no longer works.
Blender is free, but it's freakin' hard. I can't even find my way around the interface, or even select something!

Anyone know a good, (And i mean, GOOD) simple tutorial on blender? Thanks.

I have a mini suggestion. Download blender 2.5 (the alpha version). Its interface was changed a lot. It comes with a toggled quad view, similar to what Milkshape has. I personally think things are easier to find, but there aren't many tutorials based on it.

And in case you haven't seen it already (I hadn't), there is a great tutorial on using the dts exporter for blender:

The exporter only works on 2.4, as far as I can tell, so you'll have to switch back to that.

Maybe take the right selection option (Vertex, Face, Group, Joint) and select it in the 2d view?
