Back in my day, long before any major add-ons or even the first release of the Events system one of the main server themes were FamilyRp's or PokemonRP's, infact I met a large number of my Blockland friends in such servers.
We never RP'd because "we had real life troubles with families" we RP'd because it was fun when done right, and it still is today, most people who complain about FamilyRP's either go to crappy ones or are too lazy/unimaginative to RP.
