You could make your own Defend Your Castle/House. My brother and I made a fully automated Defend Your House with progressive upgrades. It's fun to play, but EXTREMELY tough to create. In fact, it's still riddled with bugs.

If you're good at eventing with variables, you can give that a shot. Anything else I'm brain dead on.

I think your best chances at getting better at building is: Building a simple house. Then start adding furniture. Then build another house. Bigger, slightly more complicated. Then again, furnish, then another house, even bigger, more complicated. That is what helped ME get better. I would show you a picture of one of my houses if i had one. :I
