jelly is usually made of grapes and has added preservatives and all that stuff
jello is a wobbly shaky snack that it mostly served at birthday parties.

Oh i see! I dont think we have your kind of jelly in the uk.

so this is the truth:
we call american jello and jelly (if we have jelly), jelly.
and we both have jam the same name.
