Author Topic: Good gameplay recording software?  (Read 1564 times)

Fraps must be running in background. Make sure its settings to 30 fps ~ 50 fps (considering you have a decent PC to do this) running at "Full size" in order to record the full uncompressed video file. After running Fraps, you start up the program you wish to record and push the key to start recording. Fraps records in 4GB increments in its folder and may require a harddrive that can write as fast as Fraps can record (at least 16 MB cache and writing speed at 32x and above for the optimal performance).

If the FPS drops to 1, then your PC is not able to handle Fraps' High-Def uncompressed recording as its the "top-of-the-line" thing.

For the youtube part, I compressed the original file and uploaded it to Youtube. The file is uncompressed when made, so the problem is most likely your specs until you post me the specs and find someone else with the same errors and problems.

So fraps requires you to have some ass-advanced computer to even record in low-quality at 30 FPS?

Wow, what a good recorder.

Post your specs, the problem might be your PC having low performance when running recording software in general. My laptop, which was built for vista business use, is able to record fine since its performance is well-balanced.

I think the general problem in this case however, is your CPU. If its pretty old, then it won't run well for you.

CPU
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.00GHz

CPU SPEED
 2.8 GHz

RAM
511.5 MB

VIDEO CARD
RADEON 9250 AGP (0x5960)

HDD
Maxtor 6E040L0

Tried running on 30 FPS. Nothing.

Even with my crappy computer, I was able to record using Fraps.
It's worse than yours.

It recorded sound.

You're doing it wrong.

Okay, tell me in steps how to get it to work. I bet my ROBLOX account it won't.

Your performance seems to be a problem then. If your PC is naturally slow (when loading software, internet browser, etc.), then you WILL NOT be able to run it correctly. If you can, try unchecking some values you do not need on your machine and see if cleaning up your PC of junk data does the trick. You should also try removing malware if you can (malware=viruses, spyware, etc.). If those do not work, then you have to clear up your PC's "Cache" data. I can send you a program that does it, but I need you to do the above before I can send something like this.

I did clear my cache and everything, the program is just stuffty. Disregard my bet, I'm uninstalling this and surfing the internet for a proper program.

And I do get 30 FPS ingame , even when it's supposedly "recording". I press the god damn button but there's no actual file when I check the folder, even if i stop the game, press it again, close Fraps, nothing works.

At this moment I have about... nothing on my computer.

I haven't used fraps in awhile so I would have to get reaquainted with it.
I cannot do that because my internet is being stuff and I'll refuse to take the hour to download the small program.

It does work, and I don't want your ROBLOX account even if you somehow manage to fail at using an easy program.
