What card do you have?
Get a can of compressed air, bring the card outside on your porch or something (don't drop it) and blast that stuff with compressed air. Dust will go away outside, your card has less dust problems and could stop overheating.

I was getting SEVERE framerate drops on my computer (Dropping from about 40-45fps to like 5-10fps.), so I took the bottom off of my laptop and blew air through the fan. A cloud of dust the size of Rhode Island came flying out. I haven't had any framerate drops since.
