Author Topic: Extortion?  (Read 1131 times)

So at my school the student council is trying to raise money for ALS, and they're trying to get people to donate by blasting annoying music in the lunch room during lunch (surfing bird, crazy frog, etc.) so the day after they started this, the principal got sent an email saying that what they're doing is extortion and that they should knock that stuff off (they said they would shut off music if they got enough money)

So what do you think?

That changes it from a donation to taxes, tell him that if you try to force students to donate money that they don't want to it is no longer a donation

That's kind of the opposite of a jukebox, isn't it?

Tom

They suck at that. They should be using that mosquito thing.

It's similar to extortion since they're threatening you by blasting loud music that annoys everyone.

Whoever sent the email is a douche

Whoever sent the email is a douche
I'd send the email if we were being tortured like that.

So you support a student council that tries to annoy people until they give up their money?

Basically Devil supports thievery, fraud and extortion

They did the same exact thing at my school and it wasn't bad at all. With everyone in the room talking you could barely even notice the music playing

I do

I now know who not to support when they're running for something.
