ok, so i just moved out of my old naval base 'hood and this Email comes to my attention and here is how it went (i edited names and numbers out):

We went out to the yard this morning to find the rabbit hutch door open and the bunnies missing. There is no sign of a struggle and there is bunny evidence all through the yard. We are hoping that they are well and just exploring the neighborhood. Please look out for a little black rabbit and a little brown/gray rabbit. Return live bunnies to Quarters (blank) if found. While the boys and I were helping Gilbert from Lincoln military housing catch a wild rooster loose in our front yard, we found the black bunny! This is one strange day!
We put the little guy back in his playpen in your back yard.
FYI...two roosters are still on the run...
