Author Topic: Paint.NET  (Read 1066 times)

I'm looking forward to downloading paint.net so I can make myself transparent avatars. Anything I need to know more about this?

Why not download GIMP? Much easier if you ask me.

Now I need help on how to make images transparent.

1. Use the magic wand on the white background.
2. Click Edit --> Cut
3. You see a checkboard pattern on the background now.
4. ???
5. Profit. (Background is tranparant.)

I hope noone asks you.

He's not downloading GIMP because he's downloading Paint.NET.

Use the wand, click on the areas you want transparent. Hit the delete key and it's transparent. If the image needs to be resized at all (for example, it's 400px and you make it your avatar) it isn't going to be transparent. Resize it, then transparent-ize it.

Save it as a .png or .gif, and be careful not to save it as .pdn.
