Author Topic: Transition - Basic Capture the Flag Build & An Experiment in Lighting  (Read 469 times)

I believe this is my first time posting a build on these forums, so first I say hello.

Now, on to something you might care about; the recent update to Blockland (v15) really impressed me in regards to how much of a significant performance boost it provided, due to certain tweaks. Specifically, this update allowed me to actually play around with lights without the fear of causing severe slowdown. This allowed me to create an idea I've had for a while; this build is basically a simple capture the flag arena that has a lighting gradient that goes from red to purple to blue and vice versa. Though my execution isn't perfect, the build itself is quite fun to play on.

Since I'm a lazy ass and I don't want to go out of my way to list every single add-on used by this build (its late and I'm tried), I will not be posting the build to download unless there is heavy demand. However, I will be hosting the build at my server "Com Rante's CTF Server - Transition."

Oh, and of course, here are screenshots.

Haha, I did something like this in v13, I believe, but it used grayscale found in Trueno's colorset. I added lights every now and then but added "glow" fx to almost every brick that made the grayscale transition, from white to black and vise versa, complete.

But like you said, execution probably didn't turn out like hoped. But then again it never really does.
7/10

In terms of gameplay, it's more like a maze then anything. No vertical gameplay at all.
