Pink line while extruding

In blender whenever i extrude there is a pink line. i want to make it so that i can move the pinkline so either getting rid of it, or moving it in the way i want it to go. can anyone help me?

I've had this problem before, but sadly I forgot how to fix it. Maybe try pressing x, z, or y while extruding to change axis?
