Author Topic: FREE MP3 to MIDI converter  (Read 845 times)

Does anybody know where I can find a MP3 to MIDI converter for free? And yes I've google'd it, half of them are pay to get, and the other half seem like the generic sketchy download site.

Bump, it has to exist somewhere, doesn't it D:

I heard this is good.

I googled it and everyone is saying Midi to Mp3 is possible, but Mp3 to Midi is a clusterforget. :C

That one can't convert to midi?

Shoot, I was thinking you said ogg not MIDI.

Sorry, man; I got none for MIDI.

Well gosh darn. The reason I need it is because I want to transcribe a song, but I suck at measuring pitch, so I was thinking maybe I could convert mp3 to midi, then midi to sheet music (midi is extremely clean to put onto sheets). fack :c

I'm not quite sure if this is true or not as I'm not up to date with everything about the filetypes. but isn't converting a MP3 to MIDI just illogical? I think MIDI's are basically "note sheets" for the computer to "play" with certain "Instruments" while MP3's are "recordings" of real instrument sounds.

Or for a more sense making example, MP3's is like a Movie and MIDI's are a book. We can "convert" them but a computer would have no idea how to.

Tom

Above post is right MP3 to MIDI is impossible.

I'm sure if you look around you might be able to find a version of the song that's already in MIDI.

I doubt that 100%, nobody's even heard of the song; it's an OST from a foreign TV show.

I can try to do this in FL, but I don't know if it will work.

I'll have FL transcribe it, have it export it to the piano roll, and then export to MIDI.
I can't get on my computer today; I can do it tomorrow.

Thanks, want me to upload the mp3's and send them to you, or will youtube links be enough?

I don't think conversion works that way. MP3s are flattened songs that are uneditable and computer software as far as I've seen it will have a hard time seperating the notes, so if you want a .midi, you would have to find one or make one yourself.
