You can't. You can't just smoosh block types together in your inventory.

Wait inside until daybreak.
Done.

Finally, a morning picture.

EDIT: Changed to a more accurate time of day.

You don't need a wooden shovel to dig, you know, but okay.

I need to find some coal and make some torches. Too bad my other save corrupted. Stupid registry errors...

Well, here's the current location.

Kill that pig and sheep.
Mine for coal.

Killed the pig, but he let the sheep live. He figured it's more useful that way. He's already trying to dig for coal.

Combine your Plank and Snow blocks so you don't have 2 separate stacks of each.
What I mean by this, is combine the two separate stacks of non-64 Plank blocks, and then the Snow blocks, so you have more inventory room.

I only have one zero stacks of snow blocks, and I used up the plank stacks.

Apologies, but I'm going to have to put this on hold. My laptop, which is the computer that has the save file, is not currently usable. I'll unlock the topic when (and if) the laptop is repaired. When that happens, I shall search for caves.

REVIVE! My laptop is once again in working order.
look for nearby caves
Doing so now.

Hmm.......

Kill any bears you may find in the cave and build a small houselike entrance gate outside the cave.

I don't even know of that game...

By building a houselike gate outside the cave I mean make a house that covers up the cave with a hole or door to enter it. Also, if you will and can, build a trench around the workshop-house you made and build a bridge. Reccomended method: dig near the beach and make a  river of water that leads around the house, build a bridge, then release the water.
