Shoes aren't. Shoes are usually just for style, to cover yourself or athletics while boots are more for going places shoes weren't meant to go.

I pay anywhere from $60-$100 on shoes. I usually wear DC's. Although the nike's I currently have are nice(No they are not basketball shoes, the same style as my usual DC).
