Author Topic: Query Master Server Failed  (Read 1326 times)

My little brother has been trying to connect to blockland internet server for the past 3 days and for some reason he repeatedly gets a
"Query Master Server Failed

Correction failed during master server query.

1. Verify your internet connection

2. Make sure any security software you have is set to allow blockland.exe to connect to the internet. "

along with this, whenever he tries to host an internet game;

"Connect Attempt
Connecting to Local Host"

and in a seperate window;

"Cannot Host Internet Game
Authentication Connection Failed"

well, I KNOW for a fact that he has never touched an anti-virus program or even considered one (yet repeatedly complains that hackers messed up his mouse...), but the Internet connection may be it. could someone disect "verify your internet connection" for me? He can open internet explorer and browse the web just fine, but I get the feeling there's more to that then just being able to go on youtube...

Start -> cmd-> nslookup
Type "master2.blockland.us"

Should be 75.125.196.138
That's all I got for now.

I'm afraid I overlooked one little detail before I posted this.
"offline mode"
my apologies, that's a TOTALLY different situation.
 :cookie: anywais, thanks kalph, I can always look back on this if I bug out.

whoops, apparently that's relevant to internet connection according to pheonix.

So he can go on Internet Explorer, browse the web, but blockland has him in offline mode.

this may also be a factor;
Monday (July, 26th) our router "fried" and we lost internet connection for that day. I wanted to host a solo server to work on some of my builds, and noticed my key was gone and I was in demo mode. the next day (July, 27th) my key was back. I'm unsure if my brother played that day due to internet being offline, but ever since monday it seems he's been offline, even WHILE internet is up.

overall I'm still confused, Is it due to his beta key not being there or is offline mode something else?

Is it due to his beta key not being there

just tested that by plugging his key back in, he still remains in offline mode.

any ideas?

did he have internet? :D
ie, did he accidentaly hit a button/switch that turns it off

Yep, I could open internet Explorer AND firefox...

did he buy the game

Like 2 years ago... I assumed that would be rather obvious that he bought the game... After all, wouldn't I have mentioned the DEMO text covering everything?

topic dropped again...  :panda:
