Author Topic: Dead Ping: I think Kaspersky Security is doing it  (Read 1106 times)

I suddenly notice my ping is at --- about few months ago. Port Forward won't work cuz teh login is rigged. Besides port forwarding is no longer needed. Dedicated don't work also. I believe it started happening ever since my dad got this Kaspersky Internet Security installed on my computer. What do I do? Do I shut down whole firewall on it?

You only have to set the Firewall to allow anything from Blockland.exe to pass. You probably don't have to disable the whole firewall unless there are multiple problems.

What do you mean by "rigged"?
You will need to either have port forwarding enabled or UPnP, the only way to do that is by logging into your router (most routers don't have these enabled by default).

If you are 100% sure it is your firewall, as Treynolds said, just set up what is usually known as an "Exception" or "Allow Rule" in your firewall, I am not familiar with Kapersky, but I suspect it has similar features.

I mean "rigged" as in the label on my router (or whatever it's called) has a password to login. The label said no password was needed. So I left the password box blank. But after I hit login it said INVALID PASSWORD TRY AGAIN!

It's a D-link DWA-125 router and It's laying flat on the floor

I Googled the password thing and I didn't see anything about not needing a password. Where did you buy this?
