Something about CityRP

Recently people were complaining about how CityRP is a really crappy mod. Why don't people just fix it instead? I opened it up (I found it by searching Gamemode_Cityrpg on google >.>) and I see there is lots of stuff you can do to it.

Simply altering a few values and adding a few "jobs" isn't going to improve the game mode by any significant amount.

A person whom had the skill and motivation to make the system truly better would likely wish to start from scratch.

The City RP mod is basically an RPG makers' nightmare. If you start to think about it hard enough, you'll realise why it's so bad. Of course, some people like it anyway.

So then people should JAIL you. I don't mean just jobs. Honestly there are lots of things you can do to it.

I understand how these work, but they overcomplicated it, I think.

You don't need 500 files for one addon.

I could probably make one that doesn't require a dedicated server just as easily.

You get more flies with honey than with vinegar. Instead of these massive penalties that make people not want to play anymore (sitting in jail for 5 minutes fun fun fun) you offer incentive for players to do what you're trying to make them do. The jail system is completely handicapped.

You could simply not include weapons in the game. They don't serve any useful purpose in an RP.

It only required a dedi because its overrated saving system ("Sassy") didn't work correctly on non-dedicated servers.

Yes, but then I suspect no one would stay for long at all. If you think about it, CityRP tends to revolve around, not getting a huge pile of money, but getting that sports car, that 64x64 lot, and yes, that magnificent shotgun.
