Author Topic: Is my graphics card HDMI compatible?  (Read 896 times)

Ok so, i was going to ask my dad if I could hook up an HDMI cable up to my ASUS LCD monitor but he put in the other input (DVI). So i was wondering, if my graphics card does have HDMI or not. I have a MSI N250GTS Twin Frozor 1G graphics card (Nvidia) with pure video HD and GeForce.

Can't you just google this?

Doesn't a HDMI cord look like a buffed up U.S.B. jack?

I have one, but i don't know how to put one in :S

Don't have one, i thought i looked like a USB, it just turned out to be something else.

Why do you even want to use an HDMI cable? DVI and HDMI are the same video standard.

They have to be different some how. If HDMI was a different port, then whats the difference.

Dumbing it down: HDMI carries both sound and video data in one cable. The video standard it uses is identical to DVI though.

No, they really aren't.

They both do the same thing.

The only difference is HDMI is capable of carrying sound, which a graphics card doesn't do.

I personally think HDMI is easier to use with a laptop because you don't need the screws to hold your jacks in. :3
But that's just me.

Thanks for clearing that up
