It would be a lot easier to have skin parachutes than be able to lift a >100 lb body with skin wings.

And stem cells can grow all sorts of body parts. We just can't control what they grow. It's most likely a tumor that will grow though.

 Probably, I've randomly puked random lung liquid every morning when I had pneumonia. First came the gasping for air, then you puke.
