Author Topic: Is there a way to fix broken/cracked discs?  (Read 1166 times)

Well after reading the RollerCoaster Tycoon topic and finding all my RollerCoaster Tycoon games again I went to go install 1 and 3 but I had then remembered I had broken #2's disc. The weird thing is if it is installed on a computer before it was wrecked it can work but I can't install it on any others.

Please help this was one of my most favourite games I have ever played and I want to play it again.

Cracked? I heard there is no way to fix those :c

That's why I can't cheat in my games anymore >:C

Congrats bro, you're forgeted.

Disks like that are made in a clean room environment, even if you could fix them you would need equipment beyond what a person could afford.

Does that mean I could pay some store or whatever to fix it? And I was at London drugs the other day and saw some disc scratch remover thing

Scratch removers can never be trusted. You're better off applying toothpaste to the disk.

"Nothing some tape can't fix."

"Nothing some tape can't fix."

I guess I could try that. Tape has never failed me before.

EDIT: There are only 3 cracks. One thats big and has gotten the memory of it and 2 little ones that heven't damaged too much of it. Also the cracks are look more like thy are on the inside of it. or is that for all discs?

Scratch removers can never be trusted.
They're made by the government to destroy all of your discs!

For some reason toothpaste seems to fill in cracks and replicate disc memory perfectly because of the secret nano-bots inside the paste. Toothpaste is some high-tech stuff. Not tooth-gel though, that just kills your disc.

I was joking :o

Well it seems not because if you look up tutorials on youtube scotch tape seems to fix most discs!

Wait, he was talking about scratched disks?

I thought he meant broken disks

My old PC forgeted up Farcry CD, I used some toothpaste on it and it worked as good as new.
