Author Topic: Spam Messages on Facebook  (Read 987 times)

Some acquaintances on facebook have been sending me messages that seem to be spam.

A while ago, my friend Joseph started sending cryptic messages such as "Is it rtue? Is taht ouy in taht idveo?" A virus was to blame, claimed Joe. In another instance, a kid I know named Connor sent me a message to a video. When I mouse over it, the website on the bottom bar has the suffix .tk. Red card, eh? Plenty of random chats started by a message that reeks of spam ("Hey Bradford! Check out this cool link, I got free tokens!"). Completely out of character for people I've friended, most people don't bother to spellcheck, punctuate or capitalize.

Just curious to what sparks these spammy messages. I'm guessing it's one of many in the sea of fishy-looking applications that have few users and poorly spelled names.

It wasn't meant to be mean.  Sorry :c

Oh yeah, now that I read the sentence differently I see it can have multiple ways of being interpreted. Awhoops!

Jump in with Avast! antivirus in action. if that doesnt work. just go to the reformat station.
