I totally agree, I just used Spybot SaD which is free, be carefull online, and I am off fine. (Actually I survived a month without an antivirus, of course when I got spybot a ton of stuff came up, and I probably have a few rootkits)

no Norton will make virus's on your pc To make you buy it trust me i had No virus's Untill i downloaded it its a Scam.

The entire front page of Google may be sites tricking you to delete something crucial, but majority says win.exe is a virus.

Correction, you didn't FIND a virus until you downloaded Norton.

Norton helps a lot of PREVENTING virues from being downloaded. But once they are, you're kind of screwed over.

Also, Norton being provided by Comcast for free, do you really think they're going to give you their maximum protection for something off of which they're making no profit?

Wait, I'll answer that for you. No.

However, as an alternative to McAfee, yes, Norton is better.
