Author Topic: Ubuntu - cannot interweb  (Read 835 times)

I gave around 90gb for my Ubuntu partition, and when I finally got into the desktop after the install and the ugly GRUB loader, I navigate my dad to System, Prefences, Network Configuration.  We go into the Wireless tab and enter our network info. MAC address, SSID, WPA, etc. etc.

I went into the little network icon on the top right and clicked it, no interweb.

plshelp

Make sure it works wired, first.

Also, installing Ubuntu while getting files from the internet is fun.

I remember that Dells work the best with Linux, and Dell even has computers that ship with Linux. Probably because I was using a Dell, that I didn't need drivers.

What kind of wireless adaptor are you using?  Mine did the same thing at some point.
