Author Topic: I can't receive a ping. And I can only connect to a few servers.  (Read 1454 times)

This is really simple.
I turn on blockland, and try to join a server. I can only connect to about 15-20 of them, due to how some aren't returning a ping to me.
This may be because my internet connection weirdly doesn't have options for TCP protocol.
No, I'm not using a router... I'm using my phone.
Console.log attached, I could use some help on this kthx

Although this isn't necessarily what is causing this to happen, one thing, along with Crap On'd addons, I noticed was:
Code: [Select]
Add-On folder does not follow the format <category>_<name> - will not execute

Other than that, nothing I saw should be causing this.

Perhaps it could be because you're using your phone's internet, but I'm not really sure on this.

Reset your connection.

On XP, you would do this by right clicking on it and clicking "Repair".

due to how some aren't returning a ping to me.
...

I believe these are bypassing their routers security, so that people can still join, but aren't able to see pings and stuff..

Thanks for the input guys, Chrono, the phone uses a phone side app and a computer side program. I suppose I could use the network connection it connects through to reset it... I finally got the tech support email from the developer of he app.

EasyTether only supports upstream port forwarding at this time.
What is this I don't even
What I asked was

Hello, I have a game I wish to play using easytether. I can't seem to get easytether to open a port so my game can connect to the internet. To play the game online, it requires port forwarding, which I seem to be unable to do. Normally, the game, "blockland" requires port forwarding to host an internet server. It apparently requires TCP and UDP to even play on other clients servers. Through the in-game Irc, I have determined by asking other players that they having the same problem(unable to connect). Easytether was well worth the money, and this is the only unsolvable problem I've had so far. Simply, can you port forward, or do some equivalent on easytether? Also, I under stand the risks involved with opening TCP ports up to the internet... such as allowing viruses and worms free openings in your security.[/size]
TL;DR, I told him as much as I knew about the internet connection of blockland
Anyway, it took the Dev 5 days to respond.. I don't want to ask him again. Sorry I can't seem to shrink the text longer

So you're pretty well screwed.
