Some routers give the option of port forwarding a range of port. When a server starts, it checks to see if the port is not being used. If it isn't, it trys the next one. I think it repeats this ten times. So, you must have forwarded ports 28000-28001 to host 2 servers.

False. If Blockland tries to connect on a port in use, it won't be online at all.
I've tried hosting in a port in the range, but not the initial port, and only 1 player could join before the server was locked up to anyone else.
In conclusion, you need  to be hosting on the initial forwarded port, and it cannot be a port in use.

This is a lie. It only needs 28000 open.

Oh, those other ports are just for clients to download stuff like mods from the server?

Not even sure about that. I just do 100 ports to be safe.
