Unable to make GIF-type avatars work.

When i try to make my GIF-format picture work for my avatar, it is displayed as a still image instead of the real thing. Any idea of what's going on?

It has to be 75x75 or smaller.

It has to be 75x75 or smaller.

Meaning it has to be 75x75 before you animate it, or that you have to use a program or site that can resize GIFs to make it 75x75 if you want to resize it after it's animated.
