Author Topic: Can a new GFX card fit in this?  (Read 648 times)

Hey I've been wondering if a new DX9/10/11 card would fit in my PC its a Inspirion 545s system model plz reply i rly need to play gta 4 with my friend

thanks for not providing your motherboard model.

because we're all loving magicians who know your system specs because you provided the name of your computer.

I even checked dell's website with the computer
http://www.dell.com/us/en/dfh/desktops/desktop-inspiron-545/pd.aspx?refid=desktop-inspiron-545&cs=22&s=dfh

And it didn't provide the specs. Probably since dell only appeals to computer inept idiots.

PCI express

So any GPU that uses PCI express would likely work, barring your case doesn't have enough space, since it's a "slim" desktop.

Also you would need to upgrade your power supply.

By fit, do you mean physically fit in a spacial sense, or do you mean fit the slot(s) that you have? And DX9/10/11 really doesn't mean much, that's just the dx version it can run. Just because a card has dx10 doesn't mean it can run games flawlessly, it still needs some other goods specs. A price range and power supply would also be nice to know.

edit: dkamm pretty much got all those specs :D

but i know plus i need to play other games wich i cant with this 3.0 graphics card i need a 4.5 at least gta 4
(Note : this is a windows 7 thing)

I cannot see a modern graphics card fitting inside of that. Most computer cases that performance graphics cards are typically built for are literally twice as wide as the case you have, at minimum.

According to the desktop's spec page, it can fit cards the size of HD 4350's, which are fairly small. I'm guessing there's not much space inside, so you're pretty much boned. Get a new PC.
