The disgusting thing is that none of the world's leaders understand that just taking a couple years to form a global alliance and share the world's resources would be much, much easier than killing everyone for them.
I think you're oversimplifying things.
For example, the leaders of some middle eastern countries believe that the country should be run based on the laws set forth by Islam. While other countries like Norway have a very high rate of atheism, and the United States is
apparently religious, but nobody really cares about their religion anymore.
