Author Topic: Dedicated Server, not able to join  (Read 2847 times)

I can't join my own dedicated server but others can.
What the hell is this?

If it does not appear when you "Querry Lan", then you're doing something wrong.

It appears in Query Internet.
Strange.

No way, that helps.

Sometimes you can't see your own server through LAN while hosting dedicated because of your windows firewall settings. It sounds odd, but I've re-created this issue just the other day and I solved it by doing the following. I hope I can help you out.

You need to make sure that what ever anti-virus or firewall you have is allowing blockland to communicate with the master server. As this may not effect your ability to see the server on lan, it's very important that you do this anyway.
You also need to make sure that if you are forwarding your ports that you don't have your ports forwarded while OPM is on. (A setting on a lot of routers that forces all gateways and ports to be open for a host) Either turn it off and specifically assign ports, or keep it on and remove the port assignments.

Also, another thing that I might suggest doing is try installing a blockland on a different home computer and try connecting. This way you can see if it's the server's issue (dedicated) or if it's a issue relating to the client it's self connecting.

I have a Mac.

I don't have an anti-virus and I even tried disabling my firewall.

Badspot said that port-fowarding is no longer needed.

I tried in my home computer, the server appears in LAN, but it doesn't appear in Internet. I joined it to try fixing the problem and it worked. But this is not solved yet, I want to make it work in my MacBook.

Are you hosting the servers from the same computer at the same time, or 2 different ones? Cuz I use same computer for both at the same time.

And also, I don't see any reason that you can't see you're server in querry lan. Macs don't have anti-virus software to block it. If there is a firewall on my computer. I haven't found any settings for it. I see not reason why it doesn't work for you. IT works fine for me.

You all can forget it.
I can't expect an accurate answer when it comes to hosting.

Depending on what router you have. If you have an Airport like most Macs do, then you need to forward your ports.

It's a modem.

It's a modem.

Airport is a router. Do you have a modem connected straight to your computer with a cable?
